  • This is old, but I'm bumping it because I just got the cookbook. It looks really good, to be honest. My girlfriend started and she's lost 3 pounds in the first week (following the meal plans exactly). I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in a group/community for us to talk about the recipes and how it's going. It…
  • w3d2 was much better - though still tough! I made it through my first 5 minute free-form having run most of it. The walk/run drills were not so difficult this time around and I found myself running some of the first 8 minute free form run. I did enjoy the 2 minute opportunity to stretch out before the next 8 minute run.…
  • Okay, well week 3 day 1 kicked my butt! It started off poorly because I forgot my headphones. So I had to hold my phone in my hand to listen for the cues. Then I accidentally aborted my mission about 4 minutes in and had to restart! Blah. I was okay through the first free-form run (5 minutes!) but the run/walk drills with…
  • Week 2 is DONE! Woo! I'll start week 3 on Monday!
  • I added you both! Just finished w2d2!
  • I really like the voice acting as well! It's very fun! I did week 2 day 1 yesterday. I'm running on a treadmill right now since this morning it was only 4 degrees here. It was funny to pause the threadmill in the middle of the gym to do my heel lifts. But probably the only guy who noticed was the one directly next to me. I…
  • Hi there! I just finished up week 1 and am starting week 2 tonight! I really really like it! Two years ago I worked through c25k and then let myself stop running. (SO DUMB!) So, I'm pretty much starting over from scratch. I wanted something a bit different from c25k and I'm so excited about this!
  • You might be better off just googling for pumpkin recipes. One super easy recipe is to get a box of spice cake mix and then mix it with one 15oz can of canned pumpkin. Bake to the directions on the cake box. You get some super filling and decently healthy muffins out of the deal! Plus, they taste pretty good too!
  • Honestly, you can never go wrong with Oh She Glows. I'm convinced that anyone who doesn't like her food is an alien species of some type. Did you know she got a book deal? I cannot wait!
  • This isn't enchiladas, but it is an enchilada casserole. One of my favorite recipes: http://ohsheglows.com/2011/12/13/naughty-nice-vegan-enchilada-casserole/ She also has these: http://ohsheglows.com/2011/05/04/vegan-enchiladas-with-cilantro-avocado-cream-sauce-2/ and these…
  • This. I also like Natural Balance and rotate between the three brands for my Frenchie.
  • There are a couple of veg friendly groups here on MFP "Team Vegan" and "Happy Herbivores" Come join us!
  • Awww, man! Thanks, though!
  • I think BabyNew made some jerky at home. You should message her!
  • Yes, Tofutti is my favorite! I just used some in a spinach-artichoke dip recipe and it was delish!
  • I got mine too! Love Bianca and her blog so this was an easy purchase!
  • My ring is custom -- I had told hubby I really liked the look of a pear diamond I saw at the store. He told his mother and she said "Well, I *have* a pear diamond. Here you go." It had belonged to his grandmother. So then he showed me the diamond and we picked out a setting and made some tweaks. Meanwhile, my mother gave…
  • My fave: 1/3 c. oats 1 banana mashed up really well 3/4 c. soy milk 1 tbs flax seed Mix and leave in the fridge overnight. In the morning top with 1 tbs peanut butter and 1 tbs raspberry jam. Yum!
  • I graduated last week. I ran my first 5k with a time of 41:21. I know it is slow, but I wasn't last and I'm glad to have finished!!
  • Whenever someone asks me how to become vegan, I tell them to focus on the "whys." Why do you choose a vegan lifestyle? What appeals to you about it? Once you are able to internalize veganism (and I believe it should be an ethical decision) then it becomes so simple. You don't even have to think, you just do. Please check…
  • w00t! You are awesome, girlie!
  • I just finished week 7 -- it is fantastic. I can't even believe that I am where I am. Keep going, you can totally do this!
  • Well, I did it again. 25 minutes straight! Fantastic. I think I might do it one more time before trying to go to week 8 and adding an extra 3 minutes.
  • I had a great run for w7d1 -- felt fantastic and like I could keep going. D2 was TERRIBLE. Barely ran for 15 minutes. D3 was only slightly better. Ran 20 minutes solid then walked/ran the last 5 minutes. Why is this? I feel like I *know* I can run for 25 minutes straight. What is stopping me! Should I do the 25 minutes…
  • Quick! Without looking, how many grams of protein do you get a day? No peeking! I bet you don't know. No one in an industrialized, first world country, will have problems getting enough protein. Know why? Because we get plenty. 10% is MORE then enough protein. Bump it up to 12% if you're super paranoid. Do some reading of…
  • Veganbaum speaks truth. Once you internalize your "whys" for becoming vegan, it becomes as easy as breathing. I'm not tempted at all and I find vegan living supremely easy. I recommend the book "The 30-day Vegan Challenge" by Colleen Patrick-Goudreau to anyone interested in veganism. Plus, her podcasts called "Vegetarian…
  • My husband runs every day. He says there's no reason I shouldn't be able to run everyday and that when my program is over he thinks I should run whenever I feel like. He's crazy though. Sometimes he runs "TWICE" a day.
  • TVP sloppy joes are so easy! Rehydrate your TVP and then mix with regular Manwhich in the can. It's totally vegan. Veggies and hummus are great. Potato chips and onion dip -- pick up some Lipton's onion soup mix (vegan) and mix with a container of Tofutti sour cream. A giant green salad. I've also made spinach artichoke…
  • I'm bumping this so I remember to reply tomorrow.
