5 F, -15 with wind chill. They cancelled school, as that is ridiculously cold for this area.

1) Summer. Being overweight made summer MISERABLE. 2) Travelling. Bigger clothes = less luggage space, and overweight = less stamina while travelling. 3) Pictures.

I know a 96-year-old grandpa who is taking courses on Quantum Physics. Never too old.

Short-term... currently: bathing suit season. The usual motivation that gets me from month to month is how good I feel after a week of staying on track.

Taken. (Did anyone else have to repress the urge to throw in the Liam Neeson 'particular set of skills' speech after typing that?)

1) Quit smoking because it was getting in the way of workouts 2) Discovered willpower 3) Started strength training again.

Do not spar in martial arts class after rock-climbing for 4 - 5 hours the day before. Literally could not lift my arm to block after the punching drills. Nose blood *everywhere*.

@koosorlose -- If we'd had a clique like that, it could have been a possibility. @jph092281 -- Football jock

^ This. When I was in the 'diet' mindset, I lost a great deal of weight only to gain 1/3 of it back over the next three years. 'Dieting' suggests it is temporary. I've stayed on track the second time around by realizing I'm lazy. Working to get the weight off isn't easy. Why make it more difficult for myself?
-
My tolerance plummeted when I started dieting. Like everyone else has said: drinking more water while out at the bar and making sure to eat before hand will help. Also, try to make sure to eat eggs the next day and pop a B-12 vitamin. Cutting back on alcohol consumption works the best. 24 was two years ago for me, and I…

Never had weight gain issues when I was on it before, and now that I'm on it again I am continuing to lose weight. And if your doctor says the pill can't effect your weight -- well, I'd take his/her word on it. If you really think it is the pill, maybe ask your doctor about a lower-hormone option?

Definite victory. Way to go!

5'6, 170lbs, currently. Bust: 40 Waist: 30 Hips:41

What everyone else has said. And since you "feel" like you're gaining weight, the change in diet and change in altitude might play a part as well. (Though altitude is probably not a big factor unless you're vacationing somewhere with a drastically different elevation).
-
5'6" Heaviest weight was 215lbs, got down to 165lbs, now around 170lbs. I'm aiming for about 155lbs and being toned. If I look okay at 155 and can still lose from there, I might try to lose another 10lbs.

Depends on the workplace. In my office, it's pretty typical to see people doing pushups and squats every hour, or running up and down the stairs during lunch breaks. Things that you might be able to get away with in the office include (and depending on how clean the floor is): Squats Pushups Bicep curls Tricep press (with…

There may be less discrimination based on tattoos in my work place than in others. I work with a fair amount of veterans, and many of them tend to be tattooed. I suppose my company has realized that not hiring individuals based solely on the fact that they have tattoos is a silly and increasingly outdated concept. Most of…

Definitely getting the Jonestown vibe from this Beachbody stuff. But hows about you take down the picture of a massacre?

Congratulation! Fantastic achievement!

I've been struggling to quit for the last month or so. It's getting easier to cut back as I work out more, but downtime is also when I get weak about it. It works differently for everyone, but I've had success in cutting out the ones I think I 'need.' The cigarette before work, the cigarette when I'm stuck in traffic...…

I'm lucky in that everyone in my office is working on getting in shape (if they aren't already). I've had those comments occasionally, but if I'm eating a salad, it is for the nutrients, not the calorie content. If you launch into a long-winded (slightly over-the-top and very enthusiatic) rant about the benefits of…

If you work out at a lower intensity, you should be fine. Just don't over do it. I've found if I do too intense of a workout when I'm getting over a cold, it'll trigger coughing fits. Don't know if that is the same for everyone.

SAS Survival Guide, because why not?

Not terribly excited about either. Between Witchblade and Firefly, I've developed TV series trust issues.

Did not know that was a thing. What you learn on MFP...

^ This worked to kick me off my plateau. I was originally eating 1400 on rest days, 1600 on days I worked out, and couldn't budge. Upped calories by 200, took four days off from workouts, and upped my strength training a little bit, and I started losing weight again.

Best compliment ever! Congratulations on the progress!
