No harm in starting gentle exercise. Walking is great easy to do and free. It's also great for your mental health too. Start with a small goal and expand from there

Firstly have fun it's a holiday and any gains usually go very quickly once you get back on the band wagon. Secondly be clever with your eating. Choose the treats you really want and have smaller amounts rather than trying everything. If it's hot pile your plate with salads for starters or sides instead of pasta or chips…

I am 46 and now moved to a 21 day cycle with some dizziness just before and often a raised temp so suspect I am peri now. Anyone else find their ability to exercise is linked to their cycle? I find at some points in the cycle I am full of energy and others e.g. the week before period I am exhausted and can't find the…

Thank you for your reply. I already get terrible side effects from other forms of medication for GORDON so not impressed that nexium is going the same way though on the grand scale of things weight gain is a lot less of a pain than other side effects in have had

Your loss in a short time at lower numbers and being in mid 40s is brilliant and inspiring
-
well done and like many before you, as you have lost weight you have also started to look younger too

I tried 1200 for a few months when I started and at first I lost weight but then stalled or weeks and weeks. I also felt cold and ill all the time however I do not and never have had that much to lose. As an older woman I am working to lose lb 22 in total and I am not very good at this in any way lol

I would not bother logging but make sensible choices. It's one meal after all and won't derail what you are doing as long as you are not doing it on a very regular basis. Stick to foods that you know won't be too high in theory like salad, cold cut meats etc

any recommendations? I like weights so far and certainly like the idea of what it can do for the body shape but I am still a little over weight too so need to lose as well as shape

don't worry about it. You are going for the same race so time will tell whose methods worked the best. You can do two things, one get continually annoyed which could mar your friendship or two, just smile to yourself smugly and get on with what you do.

gosh people are not really helping you with your original request! I know when I tried it (as defined by me) for a week I really did notice a difference and that spurred me on to research more about a health issue I have and how I could help it with diet. for the original week I only ate fresh veg, berries and…

I would also recommend booking a one off pt session as with free weights you can do lots of compound exercises so you work more parts of your body at the same time so you can spend less time in the gym or alternatively make quicker progress

I with you on this struggle!!! I am 5"3.5 and started at 154 but got into the 140s ok and then got stuck for months. At first staying between 148-150 then down into the 145-148 for months and now down to 143-145 so change is happening but at a ridiculously slow rate. I really am wanting to get below 140, partly because I…

not weight but knew my shape was improving when my bikini bottoms started to feel dangerously baggy while swimming at the local public pool!!!

don't treat it as a long term plan but if you really feel the need to lose for that one off event then go for it. I expect any low cal (not very low cal) and very low carb diet will work short term though you may feel pretty tired while doing it. Just make sure that you revert to something more sustainable after the event.…

coconut milk base for mild Thai chicken or fish broths, (without heated spice) very fattening but easy to eat

If someone was doing this to somehow direct insults at me then I would challenge it but since the person is talking about herself why not just agree or sympathise and just get on with it. No need to worry about other people's hangups unless it is something that you are willing to help with. If someone is fishing for…
