-
I bought the diet patches actually bought them (they look like band aids lol) thinking it would work, slapped one on my body, ate as I usually do and wondered why I didnt lose weight. I am not a stupid person honestly I'm not but that was so stupid!

You allowed fish?
-
No. What Lasmartchika said

Some say you cant spot reduce and that may be true but then someone I know has lost inches off her waist with hula hooping and proper diet
-
There are only 2 categories in MFP under Exercise and that is light cleaning or heavy cleaning, take your pick

First of all congrats on your quit! I quit too on January 9 and since then have gained 1.5kg had to pamper my quit when I first started with comfort food, chocolate or whatever I fancied at the time. But now its time to get serious about weight loss and being able to quit smoking has given me the mindset of "if I can stop…

Intermittent fasting has helped me to stop eating at night and stopped my craving for sugar. That and mindset, be determined :)
-
I wish I could hula hoop like you can! Tried it the other day and fail Intermittent fasting is what works for me, that and exercise 3 times a week, nothing too extreme. Have to control my food first, before I even think about increasing my exercise.
-
For breakfast and lunch just have homemade soup with veg and fruit so you dont have to worry too much about dinner when you go out, then the next day do extra exercise eg an hour instead of 1/2 an hour or increase intensity of exercise (burst or HIIT)

You know what? I've had a gutsful of weighing, measuring, being obsessed with weight loss! If you must, measure with your hand: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2537130/Portion-sizes.html

I didnt cut anything. I started intermittent fasting.

Chicken soup with lots of veg and herbs. That and mindset - be determined! :) You get much less in the way of calories but a lot more in nutrition. Here's one of the recipes I use and it really is "magic" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDymuFbGMeM

I like what karen says meh lol and good luck with future fasting

OMG the world out there are just the bunch of food and weight loss experts aren't they? Not!!! 1st of all my doctor recommended 5:2 for me so as far as I am concerned, the qualified medical professional IS the expert, nobody else. Secondly, I think fasting is GOOD FOR US both mentally and physically unless we have a…

Thank you so much all for your feedback and advice which I greatly appreciate. My 1st fast day went well I didnt drop dead from starvation lol and the intention was for fluid only but then I got really hungry to the point of having a big fat sandwich which wasnt 500cals but still filled me up until fast ended. I'm just…

Thank you Andy, that's great you think this is the best and I agree. Thanks also for your encouragement I need it! as just received a warning from the doc that I am prediabetic so this time I definitely won't give up.

You need healthy fats - butter, coconut oil, pure virgin olive oil and make your small meals bigger, add more protein.

I'm so sorry you lost your Mom :'( I also miss my mum two years later You're so right in saying it doesnt matter about the exercise if we dont have control over our eating which is also why I am here. I'm having a go at IF intermittent fasting as the "normal' diet just doesnt work for me anymore and so far this week have…

I'm gonna try this too and put myself in the 5:2 group. So sick of not losing weight! This is my last resort.

I intensely dislike what the scales do to people which is discourage and disappoint. Muscle weighs more than fat. It is GREAT that you're losing inches! The weight loss experts (which I am definitely not) in here may be able to advise you.
-
Weighing yourself every day will give you inaccurate fluctuating numbers and will only cause stress, disappointment, discouraging and at worst depression. I weigh in once a week or fortnight. I try not to focus on the scales.
-
On my 1st fast day I felt cold as well
-
I was thinking of giving this a go and intend to stick to my calorie allowance on my 5 days as I fear gaining back any weight I might lose in the 2 day fast. I'm guessing you feel tired with no food in your body, no energy and also the reason why you feel cold so wrap up warm, drink hot soup and nurture your fast.

going to sleep instead of raiding the fridge

Damn i hate what these scales can do to people! As others in here have said - throw scales away and focus on how you FEEL after working out. Do you feel good? Yeah focus on that :) Also take note of your clothes that may feel a little looser each day. If you must weigh yourself somewhere away from your home once a month,…

Thank you for the time you have spent in sharing this information with us. Good read and I will take note

I hear people complain about the price of fruit n veg but do u ever hear anyone complain about the cost of junk food? In my "poorer days" there were times where all we had was a loaf of bread and homemade soup I would make for me and my family but it was nutritious and that with fruit was all that was needed. The so-called…
