And here's the long post that I should have added earlier. A calorie deficit is the only thing that will guarantee weight loss. That doesn't mean that there aren't other things that will help you lose weight, but those will be highly variable and differ from person to person. Things like meal timing, macro splits, food choices, those are all going to be something where people have to find their own way.
I'm not against eating more whole foods, but it doesn't, by itself, guarantee weight loss. And in some cases it hurts more than it helps. It causes some people to give up before they begin. It creates guilt/punishment cycles in others. It's not that it's bad advice, it's just that it's not the only way to lose weight, and I generally don't like threads that seem to imply that it is or that it's a cure all for weight loss.0 -
