oh I just love a home cooked roast dinner, roast pork, potato, kumara, pumpkin, veg, gravy, applesauce, crackling, the works. For dessert - something chocolately and rich, with cream!

I was skipped. Oh well

Plenty of iron in a Big Mac! No, just jokes. A big piece of steak or lean roast beef with low fat gravy to make it yummier. Have with your greens and a piece of citrus fruit (that helps to absorb the iron, apparently).

That will be my next challenge and probably the hardest, to quit smoking. How'd you do it Archie? and good on you, such strength!
-
ooooooooooooh I don't know if I can do that. To resist the temptation of not stepping on those scales would be just as hard as resisting the temptation when I want to eat cake!

Thanks for pointing out the difference betwen genuine hunger versus mouth hunger. I think in some situations it is also "mind hunger" - my mind can trick me with thoughts that sabotage my goals and those TV ads certainly don't help!

I've learnt that the only support and motivation I need is within my own mind. Some people need to go to meetings for people support and that's fine. However, there's heaps of people support in here too. I don't need WW but I do need MFP (or something outside of myself) to make me accountable. So easy to cheat when you…

okay, will do, thank you for the advice!

I love my carbs (in moderation of course) and it's the only thing that will fill me up. Each to his own though.

yes I was shocked the other day when I saw that a large moccachino is over 300 calories and that's without the added sugar!

I've heard that the anorexics do support each other. They want the communication with likeminded people. I don't think it will make much difference if it is reported. The site doesn't say "You cannot join if you are underweight."

you have nice legs and no I'm not a lesbian

Thank you for that! I am going to try this

All movement is exercise. Simple as that. No need to get all worked up about it if someone chooses to include that exercise into their diary! Jeez

For me, the short answer is yes.

aw that's awesome I'm so happy for you! It's hard to believe isn't it

I'm guessing WW base their points system on a typical 1200 calorie a day diet anyway. To test this, you can count the calories of what you would eat in a day on the WW plan. I've done WW before and it definitely works but the money I save from not paying for WW is going towards my exercise classes.

Well I'm no expert, I've only been here one week, but from my own experience I went over my protein and still managed to lose nearly 2lb.

I can understand that Eric where your wife is coming from. She probably comes from the same place as me, mentally that is. I'm still trying to get my head around it. Still trying to change my thoughts where I used to believe that if I don't eat for hours on end, that that is the ONLY way to lose weight.

Moments like those are definitely priceless and obviously you appreciated every single minute of feeling very pleased with yourself :)

A whole box of scorched (chocolate) almonds.

Honestly, I really REALLY hate the scales sometimes or should I say I HATE what it does to people.

Everyone complains. It's an enjoyable pastime :)

Thanks everyone for your advice and opinions, very helpful. For me it was a pleasant surprise to learn that losing weight does not involve being hungry, miserable and grumpy! Honestly, who would be happy with eating grapefruit and cabbage soup all day? 1200 calories is quite a lot of good healthy food, sometimes more than…

For me, weekly is better. I don't want to become obsessed with the scales and I can't tolerate the disappointment if I weigh every day and if there is a weight loss, I'd rather wait for Monday and give myself a lift at the beginning of week.
