The fat causing obesity which is supposedly stored from too many carbs rather than too many calories.
-
Where does the fat come from? Is the supposition that the body is converting other macros to fat?
-
I would not rely on the calorie counts from Every Plate.

My partner’s mother was told that of she went on too long a bike ride, her body, having depleted carb stores, would start cannibalizing muscle.

I don’t have an official diagnosis but probably also have PCOS. I lose weight when I am eating in a deficit. That means I use a food scale and I am honest in my logging (even the mints!). I also make an effort to get 10k steps a day through deliberate exercise and just being more active (park far away, take the long route…

Telling someone that they’re adding muscle and that’s why the scale isn’t moving. This is usually said when someone talks about a lack of results after few weeks or a month and often to women.
-
I used the MFP numbers to lose enough weight to go from a 12/14 to a 4/6 in pants.

What do you do to warm up and cool down? Knee pain can often be caused by issues with surrounding muscles and tissues.
-
Lots of people want to lose weight. They can still very easily overeat.
-
Use a food scale to help achieve a calorie deficit.
-
Nope, it’s not harder. I am doing it at 41. I eat in a deficit and I move. I lose weight. It works the same for us oldies as it does for the youngsters.

Yes, that’s how I lost my weight. It’s hard at times. It’s boring at times. Sonetimes you want the damn cookie. But if you eat in a deficit, you will lose fat. Get a food scale and read up in water weight.

Hmm, I wonder what fitness models/body builders might be doing pre-competition to increase their metabolisms. It couldn’t be lots of exercise, could it?
-
Free meals are more common for me than free days.

I went off BC a few years ago. I was also worried about the same issues. I think my exercise habit, calorie tracking, and dermatologist all helped limit any issues.
-
Are you sure you’re only eating 1,000 calories a day? That’s not a lot of food.
-
You need a genuine calorie deficit and patience. I had 41 inch hips and now have 37 inch hips. It’s taken a while but it has been worth it. I also thought I would never shrink them but it started to happen once I was eating in a genuine deficit.

I am almost 41 and feel like I am in the best shape I have ever been in both internally and externally. It is possible. But you have to to be honest about what you consume. It’s not necessarily easy (though it does get easier) but it is absolutely possible to improve your health and your body shape after 40.

I recommend seeing a dermatologist if you can. I wish I had gone years ago. That and regular exercise have made a huge difference.

Serious stretching (like 30 second holds) usually helps me prevent major DOMS.
-
Start weighing your food. You can lose weight with PCOS but you have to eat in a deficit.
-
I also lost weight with PCOS. I did it by being honest with and sticking to my deficit. I did not cut anything, I just ate less of it or ate less of something else. I also make an effort to be active so I can eat more.

I also recommend a gait analysis. They will spend a lot of tine with you to find the right fit. Yes, the shoes will be expensive but I like to think of it as paying for the gait analysis. Once you know what you need and what type of shoe suits you, you can then find cheaper versions online. I usually look for the previous…

Go slow. Then go slower. I am also a new runner and I was able to break through and run more than 5 minutes when I slowed down. I was running slower than I can walk (and I’m currently not much faster!).

I lost 20 lbs at the age of 39. It is not harder. Be honest about what you eat and you can do it.
-
I just ordered a face mask (Seirus innovation 6810) that supposedly helps with glasses. I’ll report back after I use it.
-
I rarely work out in the am but I lost my weight from eating less.
-
Logging is not the same as measuring and logging. It is very easy to log precisely but that doesn’t mean one is accurately counting their calories.
-
I also advise you to slow down, even if you feel like you are running more slowly than you walk. I was also hitting the wall with C25K but I slowed down and now I have worked my way up to running for 28 minutes.
