  • Happens to me all the time, or at least it did back when I was in the 220s. Then again, maybe I was ****ting helium. It has been far more stable lately, but that body fat measuring device...well that is a different story.
  • I have never heard that crap about it being toxic. Soy is less expensive, really. It has a slightly lower score of absorption, and in the case of what I had gotten last time, it tasted a bit better than the whey stuff I had. Also, some people have issues with Whey, so soy works better for them.
  • I like my cayenne fruit caplets.... I have some that should be here tomorrow that are 2.5x strength, but hey... There are studies that suggest it can help with weight loss, among other things. Oh, and if your body isn't used to it, it can be rather hard core.

  • still working out the formula, but your peppermint patties in chocolate protein shakes... sure, it needs the blender and not a shaker bottle, but much better tasting, sadly, two little yorks add 100 Cal with no real protein, so that takes the effecency of the protein amount down from the high 90's down to the the mid 60's…
  • It does too.. not enough and you gain water weight, enough and suddenly you purge and drop a bunch in one day, and too much and you die. It is a dark dark sorcery.

  • Yeah, I think I came across another version of that a long time ago, in which the theory is that only the muscle parts burn Cal, BMR=370+(21.6*CoreWeight/2.2) and core weight is the non fat, so you need to know the body fat % to get that number.
  • yeah, that is still happening to me. I saw a muscle on my arm last weekend, and my wife said she noticed it a week or so earlier.
  • um, I will accept that as one of those really platonic 'in general' like we should love our neighbor type of things, cause in that profile pic, i'm not the girl. But somebody had to say it.
  • Turkey bacon is a gift from G-d to his followers who can't eat pork.
  • twice a day, every day. What counts is first thing in morning before food/clothes, and then I see how bad it went up over the course of the day. I can loose up to 1.5# overnight, but it gives me an idea how it went, and if low enough, I will eat or drink a bit more.
  • I eat Mcdonald's at least 3~5 times each week, and I am down almost 50# this year. Unsweet tea with 1 packet of sugar is 15 Cal, the $1 chicken sandwich is under 400 ( -60 if you get no mayo) and the grilled SW chicken salad is also 390 Cal with the dressing. Just don't order the fries and a shake, Water is free in tiny…
  • I think I looked into it this summer when I hit a plateu and true HCG is illegal in the US, and every product marked as HCG in stores contains NONE.
  • I don't think it was cheating per se, nor playing dirty. You didn't mention the other person's job, for all I know, he could have gotten diuretics much easier. The pediatrician, hell, he should have had more knowledge on diet and nutrition to start with. How many weight lifters or even high school wrestlers do the same…
  • Ever see the phrase 'in before the lock' well, quite simply, you wern't.
  • But why does he work that much, and he might not tell you. Maybe it keeps him out of trouble, so to speak, maybe he is saving up for something big. (Hey, overtime rules, and maybe he REALLY wants that boat)
  • 1 - Poptarts are almost 500/Cal per pack or 2. 2 - you probably need to eat more than once a day 3 - People that jump from bridges because they think they are fat tend to reincarnate into cows and whales for a few lifetimes, partly due to Karma being a psychopathic ***** sometimes. Even when you do move back to being a…
  • not for many years now, I found Conways work to be far to basic, though the elemental magic book seemed more useful. (Wow, the cover looks nothing like the copy I have)
  • I do a good bit of riding, and I had to take a Sag wagon from the 50 mile mark on a 60 mile ride, a number of issues came up, and on a ride like that, small problems can add up fast. I chose to stop because if I would have pushed, there was a real chance of death. Too much fluid + heat + not the best nutrition set up took…
  • A lot of things to consider in it, but if you havn't done a tour, do the 55 mile route. A 50k (31 mile) route would be better, and you really should have a bike shop bike that is made for touring. IE: if your bike came from Walmart - DONT DO IT. (Yeah, it can be done, but it shouldn't be done.) If your bike came from a…
  • 100% actually. Well, ok, there probably is one or two, but they never win. One person who got caught said it like this "There are two kinds of cyclist, those who use performance enhancing drugs, and those that havn't been caught yet"
  • get you BA/BS or Masters online, it takes a while, and works well. Many universities have entire online programs, and financial aid applies if you qualify. If nothing else, you 'did something' with that down time, and will make you feel better. I am starting my masters from SNHU.edu next month, and will be done about the…
  • I have one, but you have to have a lot of miles before chainwear comes into play, I have well over 1000 miles without noticeable stretch.
  • where did you get the bike at? Parkers, Smittys, Cartys, Troy Fam Bike Shop, Tipp Cyclery, or Performance? Chain lube should be fine, I do mine every other month or so, or when bored. A lot of the stuff should be decent on its own for a while, have an annual tune up at the shop you bought it at (unless you got it from…
  • NO NO NO. that is not the reason, the reason is surface area and moisture content, not dissimilar to beef jerky. (which was not cooked in the first place) If you made a burger at home the same size as a McDonalds burger, and left it sit out, the same thing would happen to it. Not that I've been able to make one that flat,…
  • My wife went from size 10 to size 2 this year, and it really becomes a pain in the butt around the 2 mark, many stores start at 4, and some that do start at 2 are still too big. She bought quite a bit at Maurices earlier this summer, and because it was odd, the CC locked us out of our accounts for a few days until it was…
  • the 'strength' section is for seeing what you did, a log of your accomplishment, so to speak, for the Calorie part, its under cardio. I did kinda stop using the strength section when I started reverse pyramiding, too much clutter.
  • Ok, I did that one day last week, I caught myself in the big mirror wall, and though "holy f#!k! My legs got bigger." which probably wouldn't happen (the surprise, not the size increase) if the mirrors in our house were at a useful hight. (My wife made me change medicine cabinets to one that I can barely use to shave with,…
  • Because FitBit is a lying little basterd eh? I never trust it to give me the extra 100~300 when the day ends, personally, I just use it for timing functions, and the small boost I get from when I am out shopping for work. Maybe you have the wrong activity level on it, IDK, could be. 100 calories a day is a pound after 5…
  • I don't see exercise for the last 2 days, and then on Saturday, you have jogging at 10 MPH. I personally wonder, how did you come upon 10 mph? (My speeds come off of a GPS device) (My wife just said that would be running a half marathon in about one hour, which I think means I need to call Shenanigans.) (my wife suggest…
  • I know some of those types of devices have a normal and athlete setting, some are just for 'normal' people, and it could be that adding your runs took you out of that category, so it will no longer work for you.
