Two years ago I went to the gym while I was ill and two days later I woke up in the hospital with a life-threatening menigitis. I nearly lost my life - since this incident, I stay out of gym as long as I don't be 100% healthy. Fitness doesn't worth to cost my life! I know this is a worse case scenario, but it can happen.

I drink up to 12 or 14 glasses of water and unsweetend tea a day - during my workdays. (Don't know why, but I'm a good drinker at my office desk and a bad one at home). It mostly eat yoghurt for dinner on my fasting days, so I defenitly need something different for lunch. (Especially because I don't like joghurt at all and have to force me to eat it)

That's how I eat and it works fine for me. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5:2_diet It's not horrible (for me), it's a practible way to loss way and stay healthy. I'm quiet sure, it's not for everyone.

Ask which sport he likes and let him join a team like basketball, soccer, etc. or let him take some lessons in carate, climbing, horeseback riding, etc. There musst be something he likes and it will make him physicaly stronger and fitter.

I just log all ingredients of my meal seperatly. I'm pretty good in estimating the weight of food and I always log a bit more than I guess. I never eat in restaurant chains, so I always have to do it like that and it works quiet good for me.
