The only way to really target one spot is with weight training to build muscle, so you can't technically target fat loss in your arms sadly, but building muscle will help them get leaner. I've been doing 30 DS too and I've actually lost 1 inch from each upper arm already in just 9 days, so I'm sure you'll see results from…

Same here. I am losing so SO slowly. I'm trying hard not to get discouraged, but I really want to see that number on the scale go down... even if I am losing inches, I'm still not in a healthy BMI til I reach that golden number. Patience is the key.

I'm on day 8 of level one. The day after day one I was pretty sore in my arms and thighs... I pushed myself and once I started the workout on day 2 the soreness went away. I haven't been (very) sore since. I have only taken one day off and it was more of a time issue than wanting to rest. But, as a mom myself, I know that…

Let em give you a hard time... as adults the concept of feeling pressured by peers is silly. I've never been a big drinker, my friends know this and know that no amount of razzing is going to change that. Don't let people talk you into anything that you don't want to do. It's as simple as that. Tell them to get over it.

I'm on day 7 of level one... strangely enough I am so looking forward to level 2 in a few days!

not sure what it's like where you live, but you could try growing your own. Gardening is also great exercise so it would be a win/win :) If that's not possible maybe you could try local farmers' markets? They usually have one or two crops that are over plentiful and get priced very low. You may also be able to talk to some…

I'm on day 4. The first day I nearly threw up, lol, so I know exactly what you're talking about. The hardest part for me is the cardio. I can push through the strength and abs, but the cardio is the worst. I've been modifying a bit and everyday I do more of the workout without modifying. It's definitely getting easier from…

I'm on Day 4 of level 1 :) I'm loving it, it totally kicks my butt!

The only other thing I drink is my one coffee in the morning. I don't drink soda ever and rarely drink juices, so it's never been a challenge for me. I drink at least 10 cups every day. I just drink it consistently over the day. I don't really do the chug it down thing unless I can tell that I really need the water, it…

I've been losing very slowly too. I've lost about 10 lbs since March. I've started to step up my exercise intensity so hopefully it will jolt the weight loss a bit. It would be nice to be one of those 3 lbs a week people... but slow and steady wins the race! I do agree that seeing the "in 5 weeks you'd weigh..." after…

The trunk of the car is a good idea. I am a stay at home mom so no office and live an hour from my friends. I could have my husband hide it... I used to have him hide my Christmas stocking candy, lol.

I am a stay at home mom and have a 3 year old boy. I just exercise with him in the room now. I used to try and wait to do it when I could have my husband sit with him. I thought he'd be a maniac about it, but he just sat and watched me and every once in a while he'd say "mumma, you so strong!" and "good job! one more…

I know where my waist IS lol, I just am not sure where I should measure as I've heard different things. I was told that the natural waist isn't where I should be measuring but I'm thinking that that person may not have known their waist from their elbow

Usually when I loose weight it comes off from the boobs instantly (unfortunate in my case)... but this time around I'm doing a lot of strength training along with my cardio and healthy diet and they actually appear bigger. They aren't, I'm still in the same size bra but I think the illusion is due to my new muscles :) Plus…

Thanks guys, I think I'll start on Monday and see how it goes. Are there lower impact modifications on the video?

I don't actually eat any differently whether my husband is around or not. That being said, I did gain about 40 lbs gradually when we first started dating. That was 13 years ago though... I think when people are happy and not paying attention that the pounds do sneak in.
-
This is what I'm wondering. I've been in the situation with kids birthdays or meeting friends... but I just made sure I ate before heading over there. If they want to call me a food snob then so be it. But, if you actually like McD's then get whatever fits into your calorie allotment.

Instead of the baggie you might want to get some produce storage containers. Rubbermaid makes some called Produce Savers that work really well. They are specially made to lengthen the life of produce.

I'm 31, 5'5 and aiming for 150. I'm the same as you, curvy (though sadly, not busty lol) and solidly built so anything under 150 would probably not be healthy for me. Even my Dr said not to go below 140.

LOL it was a joke. Telling someone to "suck it up" isn't helpful. I get that some people think that what they say about themselves doesn't effect anyone else. Fine. So if I want to be positive I can't have a sense of humor? And clearly I am not trying to make anyone "feel bad" for not being positive. Just wanted to bring a…

Thanks, I've taken many steps. I'm all set with insulting myself. I'm pretty awesome actually which is why I just want to get more awesome. ;) I don't expect everyone to agree with me and I appreciate those posters who have a different view and have explained and discussed why they think otherwise. Helps me to understand…

YES! Well said. Hear, Hear!

That's awesome! Isn't it great to hit that "now I'm getting somewhere" number? I just hit mine over the weekend too. Yay us!
-
Exactly! It doesn't bother me personally but being a compassionate person I can only imaging a more fragile person reading it. The whole "tough love" thing is overused as well. There are so many other effective ways to "be real" without being rude.
-
I totally agree. When I was in high school and 135 lbs I thought I was fat... Ha ha, I'd love to talk to my 16 year old self today!

I didn't say anything negative about myself. There is nothing wrong with saying you want to lose weight. That's IS why we're all here right? I'm just saying that in this kind of forum it might be considerate and *nice* if posters would choose a more positive way of referring to weight/size/activity level. If some members…

I'm glad I'm not alone in this thinking! :)
