  • One time per week. Either Saturday, Sunday or Monday. If I weigh in any other time for some reason or another, I do not record it. Sometimes I skip a week and weigh in every two weeks.
  • 3 months, 15 pounds; so 5 pounds a month. Need to lose 15 more so at this rate, I should reach it by October. It is a slow process and about a pound a week goes away. The bigger task is weight training which I have not started. That will be a bigger problem.
  • I have about 20 to lose but seem to be slipping - and not making any progress. Now I need to take it a day at a time.
  • Perhaps politically incorrect, but I thought this a little and I wanted to share with everyone. The majority of responses to this topic are from the females. If you want a male perspective and are willing to listen to me, I hope you will read my comment. I don't it is not a sense of humor. He says that because he is…
  • I have an idea for FREE food. So I see that there are 50 donuts on the table ready for the office people to eat. I turn to MFP and see how many calories one might be. Ah, only 400 calories. Do I want that with coffee and now I am limited to one donut for lunch or do I want something else? What the heck, I will have 1/2 a…
  • I know what you mean. I binge for a day ... feel bad and then binge again the next day and feel too full. So I just had some pasta and veal. Yes, yummy but I probably had two portions. Reference my food chart today. I am really full now so I suspect I won't be hungry again for another 5-6 hours. Ways I handle this....…
  • This is a nice application. By September I should be at goal weight. Is there one that measures a metric related to muscle development? For a man, if one has a 32 inch waist and 40 inch chest, what is the weight added for an additional inch or two in the chest? I assume this calculation would be height adjusted. If anyone…
  • To answer your topic, I have lost 11 pounds. According to BMI, etc. I probably should lose another 20. I would like to correspondingly have a 32 inch waist too. So that will require more upper body muscle. I have a long way to go. I am not a muscular guy probably more average so the BMI figures suit well for me. :)
  • rice cakes? bananas and toasted oats.
  • I am 20 pounds away from my goal. I am on the one pound a week plan so in 20 weeks I should reach it. June 1 to October 1. I have set my actual goal date as October 30 but reaching it prior and maintaining will be great. With respect to "sizes" that is about 2 sizes down.
  • I will participate.
  • thanks for your comment. all of us I am sure want instant results. "want to lose 30 lbs by next week" but we all know that is silly. doing it a little at a time means that you have to stick with a plan day by day. that is hard because it is a change from the past. for me, the two things that are difficult to "control" are…
  • Could it be water and muscle? Stay on it for a month and measure the difference in waist size and don't worry about the weight.
  • Chicago subs
  • I was looking back at the last 8 weeks on mfp. Lost 4 pounds so 1/2 pound per week. I wonder if I cut out drinking booze and increase water consumption from 4 glasses to 8 per day ... Would that get me to lose 1 lbs per week?

  • Treadmill versus Elliptical versus Spinning Bike? Does anyone have any thoughts on the bike? How does that compare with respect to injury, wearing out the knees and calorie burn?
