This is how my husband is. He can just flash a smile any time and look amazing in a picture. He always makes me look terrible in pictures because he is SO photogenic. :grumble:

I used to drink skim. We switched when my son started drinking cow's milk. I've found I like whole milk a lot better and it's more satisfying. I took about a week to adjust.

I don't really think any soda is an excellent choice. Choosing between diet, regular and the ones in between is like picking the lesser evil. If you're only having it on occasion I'd say drink what you like. If you're having it all the time I'd suggest reducing the amount of soda you're drinking. I know, it sucks, like…

Icky. I've read similar things about orange juice. They store it in vacuum containers for long term (since oranges are seasonal) and when they put it in cartons they actually gave to add orange color and flavor back to it. Bleh.

I still bf my 14 month old, but he also gets whole milk in his sippy cup when we're out and about.

I can't only eat 1200. It makes me so sick! I'm all about eating more! Yeah, I'll lose slower, but I'll actually stick to it and feel like a human. Not a zombie.

I do use real butter in the pan. I accidentally typed better instead of butter at first. Enough said. Haha. Just measure out half a tablespoon (or whatever you want) and add it to your journal!

Totally agree with needing balance. I don't have special dietary needs, but obviously I would advocate working your diet around any medical conditions. I don't think you should put a cap on it, eat as many as you want. Yes, there is cholesterol in the yolk, but the whites have anti-cholesterol properties, so it essentially evens out, from what I've read over the years. The yolk has a ton of nutrients.

Totally agree. I don't worry about natural sugars, just added sugars. As for the sodium, I don't know what the minimum should be, but the iodine added to salt is important for your thyroid.

Yes! Nuts are awesome. Walnuts also have Omega 3s, which I imagine would be tough to get if you're not eating fish and can't take fish supplements. Haha I haven't tried it. I just saw a commercial the other day for taco bell and they were listing off all these ingredients and one was light sour cream. Seemed really silly to me, considering the entire menu. :tongue:

I agree with everyone saying to each their own. I didn't mean to sound like I was shaking my finger *tisk tisk* at anyone. You have to do what works for you. I just feel like people do that to me when I'm not eating the "diet" foods. I'm glad there are other people out there!

Nice job on the weight loss! I'm doing the same. I cut out soda and sweets, I require at least one fruit or vegetable to every meal, exercise and stay right around my calorie goal. Working for me so far!

I try to plan all of my meals around the total calories I'll have after my workout so I can spread them throughout the day if I'm going to work out in the evening. And then I HAVE to workout.
