They put the patients in this study on an 800 calorie a day diet. Isn't that putting the body into starvation mode and causing it to react the way it is? I'm no scientist/physician, but I'd like to know the results if they had their patients eating a 1400 calorie a day diet. Would the results be the same?

I have lost 36 of the 40 lbs I wanted to lose. I plan on staying here after I'm finished to track my calories and help me maintain. Now I have another reason to hang around, I want to be here to cheer you along and help you celbrate when you reach your goal.

Italian-style chicken breasts: 4 skinless boneless chicken breasts 1 lb fresh mushrooms I can Italian tomatoes (drain off liquid) Italian seasoning Cook on low 6 - 8 hours. Sprinkle with parmesean cheese and serve with speghetti noodles.

Bank those calories for a day (in the same week) when you are very hungry and you can eat more.

If you set your goal to maintain (instead of lose) MFP will calculate the number of calories you need to eat to maintain.

I'm 55 and have lost 34 lbs, 40 lbs is my goal. I eat what the website suggests and right now that is 1230 calories. If I exercise I eat back those calories. I stay away from snacking. The only snacks I have are fruit,microwave popcorn and lite ice cream (2-3 times a week). I eat very healthy. I'm always over my protien…

I bought new bras, they're pretty....unlike the ugly thick-strapped monstrosities I've been wearing...which I now get to throw away.

I bank calories for special occassions. If I want to go out to eat, have a drink, etc. I learned to do this at Weight Watchers, it works great.

Get up and move. Go for a walk to get your mind off it. Eat a piece of fruit. Stay focused on your goals! You can do this!

I've only lost 30 lbs but..... I can shop in the regular section at the department store. I wear a very comfortable size 14 instead of a tight size 18 I wear a L vs a 2X When I look down I see the ground and not my stomach I don't have heartburn/acid reflux any more. I completely agree, getting healthy and keeping the weight off is reward enough. Once I the weight, keeping it off is my next goal.

The two hardest parts for me are - 1. starting the weight loss process and 2. keeping the weight off. Losing it is the easy part. I eat well and feel good while I'm doing it.
