I have the FitBit HR and I love it! I haven't had the same issues other people report about getting inaccurate reads during workouts - but I've only tested it while running, not during yoga or weigh lifting since I dont have another HR device I can test it against. I run on the treadmill frequently and when I check my…

I like that my gym has TVs that you can watch while on the cardio machines. I dont have cable at home so I use that time to catch up on all my shows! I basically watch a movie while walking or sometime of television program while running and it keeps me entertained and makes the work out go by pretty quick.

your BMR is what you need to SURVIVE - your basical bodily functions (like thinking and breathing and whatnot). Your TDEE is what you need to maintain your current weight (so staying the same weight you are now. If you cut your TDEE by 15% then you will lose weight and still be above your BMR (which the the MINIMUM amount…

Hi All! I've tried to join the Group that was created for this but still haven't been accepted... Did I miss the secret hand-shake?

I typically eat a big breakfast (oatmeal, eggs/protein drink, and some type of fruit), a light/medium lunch, then I workout before dinner (I run before breakfast on my run days). Dinner is probably my biggest meal of the day becuase I'm hungry from the workout and the smaller lunch. I love the full feeling! helps make me…

I have NOT tried either of these! I was looking at the 5/2 IF posts and think that might be an option for me. I would just have to be sure I plan my workouts accordingly so that I have the energy to get through them. but definately something to try out for a bit! Thanks!

sodakat - all good points, thanks for the insight! Maybe eating less dense foods will allow me to eat alot more of it and get that satisfied feeling! My calorie goal is 1580/day. I have it set to take my stronglift workouts into consideration and on the days I run I typically add another 200 calories. I'm wanting to lose…

Is this per item, per meal, or per day (yikes!). But thats actually not a bad rule of thumb. Only eat what you can carry :P That way I dont gobble down a ton of almonds, only what will fit in my hand. I'll try it, thanks!

Are you still hungry afterwards? I do that, but then end up eating 5-6 different things becuase I still feel hungry ... although I'm sure its more so that I still dont feel satisfied.

Great idea! I just joined the group, looking forward to working together to meet our goals! =D

holy cow - how is everyone measuring themselves? Here are mine: 5'5, 180lbs 35 waist 41 hips I'm an apple, i dont really have a waist :( but I measure at the naval without sucking in. Hips I measure at the widest part which means it also goes around the butt at the part that sticks out the most. Is that what everyone else…

so then whats the purpose of doctors telling their patients to wear them? Is there another reason for it?

I'm a very visual person - I track things DAILY. I have a "fitness wall" which is basically note cards for each day taped on a wall in my room that tell me what workouts I'm suppose to do that day. I also have a spot on the card to enter my weight and a spot on the card to write in my calories. I track there on MFP as well…

Agree with most other posts here. I CANNOT get up early to go to the gym. But I go straight after work. Schedule it in! I have it on my work calendar, I also made a fun calendar at home and posted it next to my mirror so that I see it in the monrin gwhen I get ready. After my work out I check it off and its a good feeling…

I dont eat them back - I have already accounted for them in the way I calculated my TDEE. If I work out ALOT more or for longer than normal then yes, Ill eat some back .... well... technically I am eating them back since I've figured them into my calorie goal... It depends on if you're using the MFP custom goal option or…

You just have to make sure you're spreading it out across the day and that you're eating porperly. I drink about that much on days I work out, and a little less than a gallon on every other day. I dont drink anything but water so this all replaces any coffee/juice/sodas that people would normally be drinking. I <3 H2O!

This. You need to find someone who can help you not only with your eating habbits but also with what the underlying issues are.

Rice crispy treats!! People always forget about this childhood favorite. And you can use food coloring or top with M&Ms to make them festive. Also... you can do angel food cake with a fruit topping. I like to just buy the frozen mixed fruit (berries) and simmer it on the stove top with some water - it makes its own syrup!.…

I have not heard of this supplement - sorry. I would recommend incorporating fish oil pills and maybe CLA into your routine. When I first had signs of high cholesterol a few years ago I started doing this and It went away (and has stayed away) quickly. That being said I have also stopped eating fried foods (a major…

I love chia seeds! White or Black. I eat them whole or ground. I typically put them in my oatmeal or my smoothies. I do notice that they keep my fuller for longer and I get full faster (soecifially with the whole ones). Try it! mix it into your food for a few days and then try eating the same food without it. You'll notice…
