By God's Grace we are celebrating 22 years next month!

When losing weight with my first, I was only 20 and it was a snap. I lost 33 lbs in 12 days. (not fair, I know) different story with each baby. My ninth is almost 3yrs and I can say that being 40+yrs makes a huge difference on trying to shift weight. After #4 was born I was thinking that was the last baby so I joined Weigh…

If I was you (or if you were my daughter---I have 5 girls and 4 boys) I would say for one month you should just simply eat a clean diet of 1600-1700 cal., get in a walk EVERY DAY, and stay away from empty calories (or any of your "trigger" foods). See if that brings back your energy/stamina, and jump-starts your natural…

Congratulations! 23 is a wonderful age....most gals are energetic and healthy and will be for the baby's growing up years. My story includes getting married at 20 when I was 3 mo pregnant. 21 years later we are still happily married and have nine children :) You will be blessed daily for your decision to let this child…

*Sounds like you have a sugar sensitivity. find out what triggers that desire to eat eat eat and avoid that food. (for me: if I start my day with ANYTHING sugar my entire day is a feeding frenzy) *Also, you can up your calories/day since you have little to lose. *Save more of your calories for the evenings when you know…

Well said! I might need to quote this to my teen daughter's that eat "too thin", and don't understand BMR, etc.

Bump....thanks for info

I notice you don't ever get your fat....EAT FAT TO LOSE FAT. Mind you get your good sources of fat. Low fat/no fat foods are loaded with extra sugars since they taste like crap. The sugars are worse since the body isn't able to use that much energy at once and it turns it into fat for easy storage/retrieval. Occasionally…

You said it well. If you need your water to "go down easier", drop some fresh lemon slices into your pitcher or glass. I make sure mine is ice cold.

I have learned alot just reading the replies from others....things I needed to hear since I, too, take a evening or so of casual drinking. The calming effect of alcohol will be lessened the more one drinks at a sitting. I would rather have an occasional drink instead of drinking every night and "need" more and more just to…

If you are going to make chocolate pudding....stir in some protein powder before you add the milk....turns the snack into food! For me, I have been eating Hershey's mildly sweet dark chocolate....5 squares only and I walk away :)

USE WHOLE MILK....full fat has more flavor and many times I can skip the sugar :)

CUT SUGAR!!! CUT WHITE FLOUR!!!

Feeding 10 people on $650/month. We do lots of Sam's Club/Aldi's stocking of shelves, buying in bulk, making from scratch, etc. I don't use coupons because we don't eat those things! (ever notice that only processed foods come with coupons???) Our kids are homeschooled so they are all home 24/7....including 3 teens. Oh,…

Age: 41 Height: 5'9" SW (2/19/12): 229 CW: 211 GW: 160 # of kids: 9 Ever since hitting 30+ the baby weight never came off between babies. Was up to 250ish when last baby was born in 2010. You got a great response from this thread! It is encouraging to see so many in our situation. My trouble isn't just that I am 41 now but that I have a large family to care for 24/7 and food is ALWAYS before me. I finally got smart and got myself moving more (duh) If you still need 40-something friends, I will friend ya. I…

This is good to know. I quit 30DS by day 5 because the pain I had was MY KNEES!!! I expected (and welcomed) the muscle soreness, but the knee pain was scary. Now, everyone is talking about stretching---but, those are warmed up muscles...not cold ones, right? Jillian says that static stretches of cold muscles is bad.

I just did the math for the remaining days of the challenge so I could pace myself. I need to walk 2.9 mi/day to make my 75 miles--since I started 8 days late :) I am going to aim for 3 miles today!
-
I just saw this thread/challenge and looked back over my journal of miles walked since the start on the 2nd....wish I had seen this earlier! Since the rules stated that we don't get to make up weeks, here is my walk for 4/10: 2.5 miles My goal is walking 75 miles I have 72.5 mi to go!
