Funny, I already do lunges and deadlifts in the Bodypump class (hi Autopilot :-) The lunges I could see working, but I never for the life of me feel that deadlifts do anything. I thought that was more of a lower back exercise. Thanks!

I'd have to say the lunges and squats have really helped me, I see a big difference. Try and get some relatively heavy weights on a barbell and put it on your shoulders behind your neck when you do your squats, it helps melt the cheese a little faster :-)

Yeah I see what you're saying. So if I burn 600 calories exercising, do I then have to EAT an additional 600 calories over my usual daily calorie intake? That's where I get a bit confused :(

Yeah I rarely ever go on the scale, I just had to a couple days ago when I went to the doctor. Like I said I use the tape measure, it hasn't been changing there either. I've heard of BMR, but haven't of HRM.
