I use either land o lakes or Skim PLUS, fat free half and half, it is creamy and works great in my coffee

If allergies are not an issue, try adding more nuts to your diet. They are very nutritious but very calorie dense. Peanut butter is another good option.

I LOVE coffee and drink about 3 cups every morning, and maybe once a week I have a cup in the afternoon. I don't count in my water consumption since I can't seem to get a concrete answer on how much it would count for. So I just still get in my 8 glasses of water and consider the water I get from coffee as a bonus. That…

I'm with you, I'm 5'10" and if I can get under 200 I will be happy and see where I want to go from there, but I am thinking much less then 175 and I just wouldn't look right.

My goal started with 80 to lose. I started about a month ago and I have lost 8 so far. You are sooo right, eating healthier has made me feel so much better. My other big thing was to make sure I am getting at least some kind of exercise in everyday, even if it is just walking or dancing around the house with the kids, and…

I actually just posted my pizza recipe yesterday for my group. It satisfies that taste for pizza but is lower calorie that take out pizza, plus veggie packed. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/560227-pizza-recipe

make a marinade using fruit juice, my favorite is use a can of pineapple chunks in 100% pineapple juice. I usually cut the boneless, skinless chicken breasts into smaller, thinner pieces so they will cook quicker. Mix the pineapple juice w/spices you like and 1 tablespoon EVOO, I use garlic, pepper and cilantro a lot, but…

skins are totally edible, if you want fries, cut them into strips, in a bowl mix 1 tablespoon EVOO, some cinnamon, a pinch of salt and 1 tablespoon brown sugar, toss and coat the sweet potato strips with the mixture and bake in the oven on 400 for about 20 min. Also, you can make baked sweet potatoes, wash the potato,…

my food diary is open, I do smoothies w/plain nonfat greek yogurt (which is less sugar then regular yogurt), I also do oatmeal w/fresh fruit and nuts added (very filling.) Some mornings I do scrambled eggs and turkey bacon w/ a serving of fresh fruit. I am very busy, work full-time, taxi 2 kids around and usually take my…

Breast feeding burns about 20 calories for every ounce produced. So it really depends on the age of your baby and how much milk he or she is consuming each day. That is why the range is so big, very young babies are not consuming very many ounces a day, while older babies may be consuming 30+ ounces a day. Because MFP…

Find what works best for you. I like to start out w/30 minutes of cardio. My fav for cardio is the elliptical trainer. It is easy on the knees and has lots of settings for resistance and incline to help vary your workout. Then I move onto weights. I think with the weights you need to mix it up some. The gym has so many…

I pack lunch everyday, that is what ensures I will eat a healthy lunch instead of picking up fast food. I try to make extra when I cook dinner in the evenings and then bring left overs for my lunch. Also, on the weekends we usually cook on the grill, so I will grill extra meat, then I can make a salad and put the meat on…

Yep. You seem to be obsessed with cream and sugar, rather than coffee.
Not the creamer and sugar, I just have been taught to drink it with the sugar and creamer...when I go to really nice local roasting companies I barely put anything in it...but that gets spendy!
When you go to the really nice local…

Thanks Emily, I needed this one!! You are right, I am very happy about the progress I have made. I also decided I did need to "kick it up" a notch. I took a good look at my food diary and while I was staying within my calorie goal everyday, there was still some room for improvement to make sure more of those calories were…

Smoothies in the morning are quick and easy. At night I put some plain greek yogurt, a little skim milk and a variety of fruit in the blender and sit it in the fridge, in the morning I blend pour in a glass and drink on my way to work. You can mix up the fruit so you don't get tired of it. I also like oatmeal, not the…

Sounds like fun, I'm in.

You just need to look at where your sugar is coming from. Because yours is coming from fruit, you are ok with 60-80. If your sugar is coming from refined sugars (cane sugar, corn syrup, ect) then you would need to make some adjustments. Make sure you read labels on things like yogurt because often sugar is hiding in these…

I have been planning for the day, one day at a time. That way, I can input all my food in the morning and be able to see if my plan matches my calorie goal and if not I can adjust. Plus having a plan for the day helps me stay on track. I am bringing my breakfast, morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack to work, so I can…

I love Zumba as well, I found a Zumba class that incorporated weights into the class. We used dumbells of different weights, the step, ball ect to get the weight lifting into our workout. It was highly effective.

All of us have found it difficult to stay focused at some point. I have found logging food and exercise (like we do on this site) helps to keep me focused. Also, I have found it helpful to set 1 or 2 exercise goals a week and 1 or 2 nutrition goals a week. For example, walk 5 times this week for 30 minutes each time and…

Thanks for those very awesome words of encouragement for us Emily. Looking at it in that perspective is very helpful! Today, I am going to rule my food!!
