I've been married 10 years, have 3 kids, work over 40 a week, and love gaming. Currently on a powerlifting program. Balance bro, got to have balance. Anything 1 thing for 14 hours a day is most likely dangerous.

you have to count NET carbs. If you try just counting normal carbs you will not get the micro nutrients you need from greens. Broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, spinach, avocado, etc. These need to be consumed daily as part of your diet. Net Carbs, trust me.

Halo Top is my go to once in a while after a hard workout. Though when i first tried Halo Top it kicked me right out of ketosis. you have to eat the whole pint, right?

Drinking and Keto dont mix. Can you have a low carb drink every so often and be ok, sure. Just remember that when your body takes in alcohol, it immediately stops producing ketones. So drinking even a low carb beverage (liquor, mic ultra, etc..), while keeping macros on paper looking ok, is far worse for you then the paper…

your calories are too low. your body has adapted to this and now anything you do is causing a sudden bump in weight as fat is stored.

Low carb is totally possible to sustain for the long haul. Me and many others have been doing it no problem. You just have decide if your goals are important enough to alter your way of eating currently. Here is a link to a low carb group. over 50k strong.…

Of course you have to have an overall calorie deficit to lose weight. With low carb though a lot of people’s appetite goes down and many days they eat less and don’t realize it. Anyone that says you can eat more calories then you expend over time and lose weight doesn’t understand what they are saying. They don’t mean to…

death by a thousand cuts. All the foods you eat have carbs. When you shoot for such a low carb level like 20g (which is very low) you cant have pizza and cottage cheese. I eat a bag of steamed asparagus or broccoli a day, but other then that items with carbs are just not on my menu. I did recent find a low carb tortilla…

Try to use pink salt if possible. Way better for you. It’s not that much more expensive but if you have a costco nearby it’s really cheap!

you can exit the flu quicker if you keep flushing and get extra electrolytes. Drink plenty of water and salt your food good.
-
you just started, so go easy on yourself and dont worry too much about calories in or out for the first 2 weeks as your body adjusts. you might start to feel "funny" as your body depletes of carbs and converts to fat burning. make sure you drink a lot of water and get electrolytes to keep that keto flu at bay. dont be…

your protein at 25 to 30% is fine. If you want to drop those 80 lbs faster and still energize, cut the carbs from 10 to 5% and raise the fat from 65 to 70%. your macros don't seem out of whack, but I'm assuming your caloric intake is higher then you need if you are not losing. Google a TDEE calculator and get those…

Same here! Add away! lost almost 60 lbs so far on keto.

coconut oil contains MCT's, but is only like 65% MCT. MCT oil is 100% MCT. Basically getting a concentrated dose and dont have to break down the coconut oil to get it.

So when you are first starting out with the Keto style diet and adapting to fat over carbs many say to not count calories. This is because you are altering your diet and stop eating foods you will have cravings for. In in effort to avoid failing or cheating on the diet many say dont count calories and just eat as much fat…

First off, a lb a week is good! You are moving in the right direction and in a healthy way. If you really feel like you should be further ahead though, I would suspect you may be taking in more calories or carbs then you know of. A carb will hold 4g of water in the body. So depleting your body of carbs gives you a very…

Congrats! One of the best feelings in the world!

I wouldn’t stress over it as you fat adapt your appetite will decrease and over time you will find a new altered caloric need. Under 1000 cals a day is very low, but as others said once in a while won’t hurt you. I fast for a day every other week. So that’s 0 cals....

I have been on strict keto diet since July. I just start a gym routine Jan 1st in a attempt to build muscle while on keto. I limit to 25g of carbs a day. Energy during workouts so far is through the roof. I usually take a tablespoon of MCT oil 30mins before I hit the gym for a boost. I think that as long as your body has…

2 things. 1 - 53 lbs is amazing. You are killing it and shouldn’t feel anything but amazing at that accomplishment. 2 - no point in feeling defeated before you even begin to fight. You HAVE to write down your calories. You are taking in more macros then you realize. When you start tracking calories you will realize that…

im in! add me

what is your current exercise routine? maybe you need to mix that up a bit, your body may be used to and expecting the current program.

the picture speaks a thousand words. muscle weighs more then fat, forget the scale, your body has totally changed! keep with the plan, trust the plan.

no, milk is ok if the rest of your diet is in check. Sugar is in so many things though you have to be careful. Like beef jerky seems like a winner, but most have a ton of sugar. Just be mindful of everything you eat and a little milk wont kill your progress. I personally drink coconut milk and you can mix that with some…

That’s a hard one lol. Artichokes have about 5 net carbs per serving. The rest is keto friendly though so you could just cook the chicken in butter with seasoning salts. And use the sour cream to make a dip/topping. Maybe bake the chicken with an almond flour crust? I like these challenges, but this is a food wars style…

Remember that eating fat won’t make you fat. You need fat when doing keto for energy. And your muscle won’t eat itself if you have fat to fuel you. If you continue not getting carbs to fuel and you don’t eat fat you will start to feel very tired and weak and that’s how a lot of people stop the keto diet. I know it goes…

you have to do NET carbs. You need green veggies for the nutrients as your body will be flushing water without the carbs to retain. So always subtract fiber from carbs to get net carbs. I put fiber on my main page for MFP next to carbs so i can easily eyeball the subtraction when i input meals. good luck!

Macadamia Nuts - Best tasting nut by far and the macros are freaking amazing! Never got into them before Keto, now they are a daily snack.
