  • I'm short for a guy... 5'7".... all the guys tower over me at the gym... I see it as an advantage lifting weights, I don't have to move the weight around as far... but on the flip side, i'm left in the dust on the treadmill with my hamster wheel strides!!!
  • An example of having a too high of a calorie restriction???? LMAO
  • There are dumb people everywhere... They try to make up for their stupidity by lashing out on others to make themselves feel better. Just ignore the @$$ clowns and move on, there are plenty on here to support you!!! Keep your chin up, we have your back!
  • They're are a ton of angry, bitter, grumpy, people on here. I just try to ignore most of them. Too many have opinions that they cram down down the throats of others to show how smart/right they are. Opinions are great on here and are warranted, it's a public forum to discuss ideas, but it is NOT a website to force your…
  • no cheat day.... but I do give myself a coupon to have one cheat meal a week. i won't always use the coupon, but I allow myself the meal for being on track for all my meals during the week. I won't even log the cals for that meal. Works well for me and it doesn't wreck my drive for jumping right back on my regular foods.…

  • I have a hard time bring my HR down below 70% on the elliptical. Have you tried doing another machine like the treadmill instead? Also, certain meds or caffeine can bump your HR up too even with a normal BP.
  • They bars I mentioned earlier are cold pressed too... so they're still in their natural form. But here's a recipe I was just given from a fellow MFPer. I haven't tried it yet, but she eats them all the time, so they seem pretty tasty. She gave me two different variations: 3C. quaker oats 4T honey 8T reduced fat peanut…
  • I would try to verify it with Exercise Calorie Calculators on the web. Most are easy to use as long as you have an AVG HR for the exercise
  • Agreed... you're definitely pushing the red zone for your Max HR... I would bring it down a notch. the 220-age is a pretty generic but great way of determining your Max HR. I wouldn't go any higher than that without a go ahead from a doctor. anything beyond 90% of your Max HR shouldn't be performed for an extended amount…
  • Organic Food bar - Protein bars are awesome and Amazing Grass - chocolate organic protein bars are great too... they're both all natural and taste really good. no processed/synthetic taste to them at all. I pick mine up from the vitamin shoppe. They not much more expensive then the other protein bars out there. Have you…
  • I love how people complain that they're being dragged out to a bar then ask everyone what the lowest cal drink they can order at the bar...... Hmmmm... How abouts some water?
  • Do you know how many protein shakes I can make for the cost of a round of drinks at the bar????
  • I'm a Non-Drinker! =-)
  • It probably doesn't help either when people comment on food logs without reading it and say "Great Job"! Eating the minimum is just as important as not over eating... a 1500-2000 calorie deficit isn't a good thing!
  • I have the same problem. I've ran a deficit for so long and am so used to eating low cal foods, I have a hard time bringing my totals back up. I usually try to throw in some PB or olive oil to bring my cals back up. I also eat as soon as I wake and eat right before I head to bed. That way I use every bit of my time…
  • Eating food that someone else has prepared.... and not knowing what ingredients were used... I hate not having contol over my macros!!
  • A wife? (I get the feeling I'm going to get a beating for this LOL) Totally kidding by the way....maybe
  • My bacteria smells like peaches.... =-)
  • My point is that people need to make their own judgement on consumption in regards with "when, how much, and frequency". The psycho babble of conflicting scientific studies just confuses most (it certainly does me) and ultimately the frustration will mess with attitudes and drive to become healthier. If you're…
  • Ditto! That or I wonder if other runners on the trail think I'm some type of perv for pulling my HRM chest strap back up and "rubbing my nipples" when I'm pressing the contacts back down on my skin.
  • You can't trick the scale.... just be patient, don't give up. As long as you keep your head in the game by watching what you eat and being active... you will "slim" down. Don't get overly frustrated, I feel the scales are out there to destroy human sanity, probably an invention created by a shrink. Don't make it a race and…
  • I'm not a big breakfast person... I do however have my protein shake as soon as I wake up (Literally the first thing I do after getting out of bed and making it, I'm OCD lol). I struggle getting my cals in for the day, so the earlier I start, the better chance I have at hitting my minimum cal intake for the day. I…
  • My mothers womb
  • On the same note... I can't stand it when either dudes or chicks wear a ton of cologne/perfume.... I'd like to be able to breath during my workout thanks... go step outside and air out a little!
  • FYI: exercisers who have not yet established proper pacing and who tend to breathe more quickly and shallow tend to be more prone to side stitches (Side Cramps). However, about 30% of all runners will experience stitches at some point. What exactly causes them? On inhalation, we take air into the lungs, pressing the…
  • I think it depends on the individual and what and how much you ate... I usually will have a small portion of carbs and a protein shake pre-workout... I'm good to go in about 30-45 mins. If I had like a big piece of steak or chicken... I wouldn't dare going for at least a couple hours
  • Nope not at all... I use MFP to look at what people eat for every single meal... anywhere else that would be creepy. Looking at Before and after pics and seeing what people ate all day long is completely acceptable on here!!
  • after a good bout on the cardio machines my legs are like jello. I can't walk straight no matter how focused I am.. I'm always bumping into machines (god help me if someone is on the machine) trying to get out of there. Or I always kick the ground because my legs refuse to obey my commands to lift my toes. Anyone do the…
