New motor, roller and belt. Hope to get another 13-years out of this puppy Walking desks are the bomb!

I pretty much had to stop running from a really bad IT band issue. I couldn't walk even. Now I walk well but use a foam roller and stretch a lot. Tight hamstring cause problems too Beat thing is a foam roller and chiro if you can afford it. Chiro helped me much more than doctors and PT but then again, no more running for…

13-year old True 500 HRC. Best treadmill ever
-
I walk around 20,000 steps a day and am moderately active since it is just normal walking around.

True, True!

I started one and no one responded. Now it has fallen off of my feed :( I eat @ 1900 a day and am losing about 1-2 pounds per month. Since it is not a race, but for life, it works for me. Feel free to add me.

Thanks for the intros! I have found aikido is not at all helpful for weight management; just don't seem to burn much. I gained 50-pounds actively practicing. I am down 30 but still have a ways to go. It has helped my hip considerably. Btw, I am 51-years old and rolling just doesn't feel that great some days :)

I have a desk over mine and use it so much that the motor needs replacing. Glad the group is still active :)

This is not an app but it is a good way to double check that whatever you are using is reasonable: http://www.exrx.net/Calculators/WalkRunMETs.html

Hi, is this group still active? I love one of. My treadmills btw :)
-
Welcome!

Since it doesn't allow you to put in age, weight, etc it can't be very accurate. http://www.exrx.net/Calculators/WalkRunMETs.html Use the above site for calculating but use net figures as opposed to gross. Good luck!

1) got a desk to go over my treadmill and started work-walking 2) found MFP 3) got a Fitbit and bodymedia fit to track TDEE 4) eat more sensibly through tracking (even though I still eat more than allotted)

still listening. Does sound decent so far

5'2" and eat @ 1,700 to lose and 2,000-2,100 to maintain
-
My set up is actually dedicated to the desk, but you can move the desk off it. I haven't a clue how to post a photo of it....
-
Atpre you working at home part of the time? If so, please consider a treadmill desk
-
I don't know about the best place for you is but for me 120 bpm is so easy I could do it for hours and need to push up past 140 to feel like I am working. I am 51-years old and know range is supposed to be age dependent. If I do HIIT my hr goes way up and then I feel I a working. Do you try that very often?

THIS!!!!
-
I can eat about 2,000-2,100 a day and maintain. I am 5'2" and 149 lbs and 51-years old. To lose I cut 10-15 %

Oh my, you should really check into these. With the amount of time you spend at your desk I would imagine it would be tremendously beneficial. I personally suggest two desks, one for walking and one for sitting as I think it would be hard to walk the entire work day.

I have had my BMF for about 2.5 months now. The first two weeks it did measure me higher than it does now even though my walking has increased or at least remained the same (I have a treadmill desk). As such, I would recommend waiting a few weeks before using the average as your TDEE. I have both a FB and BMF and the two…

It finally is working after I got a return authorization. Crossing fingers it doesn't fritz out again. It just decided to start working again....

32 pounds since January 2012 and I never did a low cal so inadvertently was eating this way since I started watching my calories. That said, I bumped them @ 200 a day in October and another 200 in December and have lost about 5 since then. Losing slower eating more but still losing :)
-
Since I got it about 2.5 pounds (2 months now). I have lost a total of 32 in just over a year and have approximately 20 to go. It is slow but I am trying to do this in a way that I can sustain for good. I had been at a plateau for two months prior.

I will second the comment about waiting a few weeks for the BMF to get used to you. Mine also started at over 2,400 a day and now most days show about 2,100 even though I move more than I did when I first started using it. What I really like about it is that it doesn't readjust my calories on MFP like the FB did. That…

Last day of the year took me to 6.75 miles or 145.91 for the month. Hopefully I can reach 150 in January. Certainly not the 465.75 miles from moonracer3 (wow!!!!) but not too shabby for a 51-year old lady :)
-
12/28 6.08 miles 12/29 1.82 miles 12/30 2.26 miles adds another 10.16 miles for a total of 139.16 so far in December. One more day to go!

I am 5'2" and pear shaped. I started at 182 and size 16-18. I am now 148 and size 12 pants. I do have a tummy too but have always carried a lot in my hips and thighs. Given the way I have been losing I will probably be a size 8 at goal as opposed to around 4 like I was as a youngster at the same weight. Oh and I do lift…
