How many calories do you burn?
Does anyone have a FB, HRM or BMF that they have worn on the mat? I wore my BMF to class a few weeks ago and in the 75- minute class I only expended @ 250-300 calories. It wasn't the most physical class but still seemed low. I am 5'2" and 149 lbs

Body media fit worn on leg?
So I have just purchased a BMF and it does not appear to be tracking my steps accurately because I have a treadmill desk and my hands are at the computer a lot. My fitbit is picking up double the steps that the BMF is. Does anyone know if you can wear the device on your calf or something to track it accurately or does it…

Treadmill calorie count
Hello, new here. What a great tool!!!! I have a treadmill with a desk fitted over top of it so I can walk while I work. I typically walk between 3-4 hours a day and currently weight 173 LBS. My treadmill is trying to tell me I burn 150 calories an hour walking at 0.90 MPH on a 1 setting incline. This doesn't seem right…

Seminar
Well I managed three hours with my bad hip. My entire body was really starting to hurt in hour three and I tried to do the fourth but thought better of it. I wore my BMF all the way through and found my calorie burn was equivalent to walking slowly for three hours. Very interesting as I always thought aikido expended more…

Introductions
Hello everyone! I searched around on this site and didn't see a group dedicated to walking at work and thought it would be a good idea to get one started to share ideas and the like. I am Rachel and am an avid trekdesk user. I have two offices and both are outfitted with this type of desk set up and I usually spend more…

Nice addition to oatmeal
I love Scottish oats with some flax seed thrown in during the last few minutes cooking. Have recently started adding a tablespoon of slivered almonds at the same time. Serve over some Fage Greek yogurt and sprinkle with cinnamon and this is a delightful oatmeal breakfast. Just passing on if anyone else wants to try it.

How accurate is the BMF, really?
Per F2F and other sites, my TDEE for moderately active is @ 2,000 (just under 2,100 on Scooby) but my BMF has been tracking mostly between 2,000-2,500 each day, with my normal day just about 2,200. I walk a lot, and I lift weights and swing heavy ropes (I love the ropes) and now I am trying to take a couple week break at…

My first break to TDEE
I have been eating between 1700-2000 calories per day pretty much since I started on my weight loss path, with my TDEE currently estimated between 2,100 - 2,400 per day for my 5'2" 51-year old, 150 pound self (between lightly and moderately active). My BMR is around 1,290-1,320 depending on the calculated source. For the…

5'2" and eating around 1,900?
Looking for friends who are able to lose weight eating 1,800-2,000 calories a day and are in my height range. Want to support each other in the goal of a slow and sustainable weight loss or maintenance mode (19-29 pounds to go for me, depending on how much muscle I can gain). If you have similar goals, please friend me…

How important is a bench?
I want to buy some free weights and wonder how important a good bench is for a home set up? I don't have a lot of space or $$ for this. Just curious on y'all's opinions. Thanks in advance,Rachel

Increased calories and scale starting to move
I recently purchased a bodymedia fit and it says I burn between 2,200 and 2,400 calories most days so I started basing my cut off this as opposed to the Fitbit, and lo and behold, the scale is moving downward!

FitBit AND BodyMedia
Does anyone know if you can link both of these devices simultaneously to MFP or only one at a time? I am using both with very different readings. Right now I have the BMF linked but I am curious if they can both be linked without interfering with each other. I think it might be difficult, but I know there are a number of…

TDEE declining
Hi, I have posted about this before but now I have better data having run a spreadsheet over time (since May) on what my FitBit has calculated. I have gone from an average daily TDEE of over 2,000 calories to an average of of less than 1,800 in the same time that I have lost 15 pounds (6-months). My weight loss is slow but…

How long until your device "knows" you?
Fitbit took approximately 4-weeks to have me figured out I assume (based on when the numbers went down quite a bit). I have been using a BMF for just under a week now. Should I give it 4-weeks before I use those numbers as TDEE or are you folks finding it is less, say 2-weeks? Right now it is running significantly higher…

Infuser for water
Brookstone has a cool gadget where you put fruit or mint or whatever in the bottom of a water flask. When you screw on the flask, it crushes what you put in there and then infuses the water with the juice. A fun way to mix up your water a bit. I had 25$ to kill at Brookstone and purchased this. A bit pricey but a cool idea.

Sweet potatoes with rosemary?
One of my favorite ways to have potatoes is cooked in oven with broth and fresh rosemary. As I am trying to switch out of less healthy carbs to more nutritious I plan on trying this with sweet potatoes instead. Has anyone here experimented with sweet potatoes and rosemary and is it delicious or dreadful? My husband is…

How do you figure activity level if not specifically
Hi, I do 10-20 hours a week of light activity, not 1-3 hours. I don't really do much moderate activity, maybe 3 hours total per week. How do you count this? Moderately active or lightly active, or do you take it in between? I am trying to get a good 15% cut off my TDEE as I have less than 25 pounds to lose at this point.

Ropes
Anyone here working out with ropes (battling, thick, cross fit)? What kinds of results are you getting from it?

Thick ropes
Anyone else love these? I hate them at the same time love them. I feel like I am really working my muscles at the same time as getting cardio. Any long time users seeing great results from the ropes?
