Wht type of workout did you do and for how long? search the exercise database for your specifics and go from there. you don't need to have a heart rate monitor if you can specify the type of exercise and the time/reps/weight, etc.

I'll tell you what I told a coworker just a few minutes ago - The only way to loose at this is to QUIT. As long as you keep making ANY effort, you still have the upper hand. Take small steps on the hard days and big steps on the easy days. You're still making progress!!! Don't quit, Todd!!!!

If I may apologoze for the rude, but well intentioned fellow myfitnesspal member above - if your goal w/o exercise is 1200, than any calories you burn with exercise are "added" to your goal of 1200: 1200 Goal 500 burned doing 2 hours of yard work = 1700 total allowed for the day good luck friend!

Ok - my 2cents We (my SIL, Mom and co-worker) give ourselves "cheat days" - these are days we allow indulgences or cravings into the diet in reasonable amounts.
