Wow! You look like a totally different person, and going by your pictures, you seem a lot more confident too. :) Well done! This is inspiration to me.

I go through periods of strict eating and then I might slip up a bit but I never ban foods that I like, even if unhealthy. If they're not banned, I actually desire them less. And when I get a bit more strict about macros, I'm not tempted to eat unhealthy food because it's a waste of calories. I ate clean for a while and…

We have similar goals and measurements. I'm also 34-36D with 28 waist and 40 hips. Also hoping to get down to around 145lbs although my ultimate goal is maybe 138lbs, depending on how I feel. Currently I am at 150lbs and my start weight was 184lbs. My plan is to go for the number and then start working on the 'look'. The…

1. Do it for yourself. 2. Every day is a new day. Don't be tempted to get into a cycle of feeling guilty if you allow yourself to indulge. 3. Don't write off a whole day if you eat one unhealthy thing. 4. Be patient. Achieving goals takes time and it doesn't matter if you don't achieve it quickly. You feel good just…

Well done. I know what you mean. I didn't quite believe in the beginning that I could lose much weight before giving up, so the more I lose, the more confident I feel that I can set a bigger target. So you're not crazy hehe

Oh wow. This really inspires me. I recently reached 154lbs (down from 184) and have about another 20lbs to lose. Your body looks great. Well done.

Brilliant success story. Congratulations to you too!

I wouldn't ask her about it. Sometimes being assertive is the answer, but in certain situations it's best to leave well alone. Perhaps you have too high expectations for the interactions you share. She probably thinks of it as just casual conversation so might not perceive it as being cold towards you. I think it's best to…

I posted here for advice in January because I'd stayed at the same weight for 4-5 months since late Summer of last year. I was eating 1400 calories and stayed at 168lbs for those months. Then I used an online calculator and upped my calories to around TDEE -20% whilst upping my protein and continuing the level of exercise…

Thanks everyone. Your tips have been helpful. Bought some running shoes today and in the shop, they put me on a treadmill to analyse my running pattern. When I was on the treadmill, I noticed that proper shoes really do make a difference. I have been stretching before and after I run so I don't think that's a problem.…

Thanks. I will try that and get the shoes. I'm so hoping that the shoes will make a big difference!

My boobs have so far gone down from 38D to a 36D but they look super small on my frame - never liked 'em really. Meanwhile, the butt ain't going anywhere. haha

I'm 160 now, down from 184. It's only about now, after 24lbs loss, that I've started getting comments from people. I so can't wait to reach my next milestone of 30lbs weight loss.

I hit a plateau and pretty much started more or less eating at TDEE - 20% and have been doing so for 4 weeks. I've lost 8 pounds during that time and had been at the same weight for months before so it definitely works. Plus I have much more energy in my workouts. There are days when I don't get much exercise and don't…

Amazing transformation! You look beautiful.

What an amazing achievement! And you look so much brighter as well. :)

I didn't mean young urban professionals. I meant households with children where both parents work high pressure jobs. They want convenience and don't want to cook a huge meal when they get back home. I know some stay at home mothers but most of them aren't obese. I hardly ever see a really fat person in my town and it's…

You look handsome. Congrats on the weight loss and good luck with the ladies!

I love this thread. I'm not very particular about logging my calories every day. I was doing that before but now I simply total it up as I go along, then I'll log it if I've eaten out and don't know what I've eaten. I needed to log them to begin with in order to recognise where I was going wrong. Now I've figured it out,…

True. Food is a drug. And I wanted to add something more informed - that people are more affluent now than they were in the early twentieth century and the rising numbers of working professionals means people are after food which is convenient. At the same time there is the emergence of the supermarket with ready prepared…

Do any of you thick girls worry about your arms? They are literally the most annoying part of my body and I want to tone them up but even doing just a little bit of work with weights has made some tops too small in the shoulders. At the same time I have big hips (41.5 inches) which makes exercise a bit challenging - can…

People are fat because junk food is so cheap. And the US seems crazy for huge portions. I don't base this comment on lack of knowledge. When in America, I had some fast food and noticed how huge the portions were compared to what I was used to. I absolutely loved Chipotle though. And I hasten to add that that is just one…

I have a heavy frame. I read somewhere that to measure the BMI of a heavy-framed person you multiply the number by 0.9. I used that same method to work out my most healthy weight range for my form. The average female celebrity weight is probably between 125 and 135lbs. Thus for a heavy frame the ideal is between 138lbs and…

I lost the first 2lbs I have dropped in months this week by upping my calories and protein intake. Also managed to avoid chocolate temptation. Looks like the plateau is lifting.

I'd just broken up with a bf and so was unhappy with what I saw in the mirror. And I weighed myself for the first time in months and pretty much cried at the scales. The scales said I was 13st and 4lbs with a BMI in the 'obese' category. I was still a size 12 (UK) but was on the edge of wearing size 14 trousers. I just had…

Another 17lb lost would be ideal but I'm not sure if it's possible. I'll be happy if I drop another 10-12lbs.

You don't have to be technically perfect to look hot btw. Just ask any man. And you are so toned as well. btw I wasn't especially critiquing your post. I can see you want advice. Hope it goes well. I think you have the body of a celebrity and no more work is required.

Maybe you're in the mindset where you feel like you're still overweight because you were before (if that makes any sense). I honestly think you don't need to lose any more weight. Cut yourself some slack. That's what I meant. It does seem like fishing for compliments, whether intentional or not. I don't mean any offence…

It's simply a body image issue. Anyway, be careful about saying you're fat 'cause that can come across as a tad insensitive to people who are really obese. Count your chickens. Think positive. What's not to like?

Such a good post. I actually resolved some my issues with people pleasing through the blog BaggageReclaim, com (it's such a good site, although it's mostly dating-related and how to avoid destructive relationships). The fear of failure/success and procrastination are all big for me and come out of my perfectionism so I have…
