My vote goes with the weight doesn't matter, it's more about body composition. You don't want to starve your muscles to get the scale showing what you want to see. I've been on a bit of a shrimp kick. I wouldn't do it for a year, but for 90 days or so of more intense workouts... 6 medium steamed shrimp (1/4 lbs): 113 calories, 1g fat, 0g carbs and 24g protein! Oh, totally agreed. I love fish, chicken, eggs, cheese and nuts as well, it's just hard to keep your fat to protein ratios down without some game changer...
