  • I'm a total sucker for eyes, smile...and forearms. Love 'em!
  • My hubster found me when I was 120 lbs heavier, married me anyway. I think he took the time to get to know me and feelings developed. He loved me when I was heavier, and still loves me now. But I will say I was probably more fun when I was less obsessed with how many calories I was intaking.
  • Isn't the diary review a beautiful tool? At least you're tracking everything  My denial days, I just don't track. Yesterday was my allowed "high calorie" day, and I was so proud and a little surprised when I wasn't as "over" as I thought, which normally would have led to more eating. Good Job keeping with it! Now…
  • I would seek a 2nd opinion. While your doctor might have his/her reasons for recommending this type of diet, I would want to make sure the health choices you are making are the best for your lifestyle, long term.
  • Wait - The earth's not flat?!? Sonofa....
  • Oh Thank God I'm doing it right!! The other instructions were making me feel like an imbecile!
  • I just quit WW last week. I found it emotionally draining to constantly be battling the smart points and life. I literally cried when I saw that birthday cake was 56 points. I would have to use all my weeklies and dailies just to celebrate my son's birthday? No thanks. I was struggling with a Good food/bad food mentality…
  • You really need to focus on one day at a time. You will never be able to break the cycle if you're constantly fearing failure around the next bend. Celebrate the little successes. One day binge free, 2 days binge free, and so on. Try to replace your binge habit with a new positive habit, so that you're mind looks forward…
  • Oooh, but a protein martini DOES sound delightful. Sign me up for that!
  • Isn't it a little condescending to post this IN the motivation/support boards?
  • Do you think my local handyman hank store has this stuff? I'm a total do-it-yourselfer, so I feel like it can't be more difficult than dry walking.....right?
  • Unfortunately, no! I live in a suuuuuuper rural area and my gym is literally a room with some equipment and a stereo. Its a come as you wish type of place.
  • I see no flaws in this idea. None. And I want some of that coffee.
  • Drink your own urine. No thanks, dude. I'll stay fat.
  • Instead of cutting back ALL carbs, maybe try less processed carbs and refined sugars?
  • Everyone has to start somewhere.....
  • Ha- while this is funny, it might not be useful to every one. I can only run at 4 am and living in a rural area surrounded by coyotes, I'm not going to do it outside. Sometimes it's treadmill or die.
  • Whenever I think of Culvers, all I think is Cheeeeesecuuurrrrdddssss
  • I think it's hard to answer without seeing what you eat and how many calories you're taking in. Is your diary open?
  • On mornings that the hubster is home and not on an overnight: 4:10 - Wake up, text gym buddy that I am, in fact, awake, and will be picking her up in 10 minutes 4:11 - Brush teeth, grab some gatorade and my shoes and head out the door 4:20 - Pick up gym buddy, scroll through MFP while waiting for her 4:30 - 5:30 - Scramble…
  • It was a TOTAL mental shift for me. I fought it the first time I tried to switch, but now I can't imagine going back to the points calculations. I also no longer feel like "Oh, I can eat 17 apples for dinner because they're free, and I still have points for cake! CAKE!!"...I feel like there are very few ways to cheat when…
  • What Cushman says - Add some variety. I'm pretty standard with my breakfasts (I'm on a cheese/apple kick), but I mix up my dinners and suppers so that I'm not getting bored. I think you're on the right path as far as lean proteins, lots of water and eating "clean", but experiment with different fruits and veggies.…
  • I think that I learned to love what is "better" for my body. I used to love eating 1/2 a supreme pizza...Needless to say, I don't love that anymore. I still love the pizza, but I'm happier when I stop at 2 slices. I've found new foods that are much better to my body, and that taste good and I don't feel like sludge…
  • THIS. I'm studying to be an actual personal trainer. I'm doing the work for it, but some jack-nobody with an email address can sign up and *POOF*! They're a personal health coach and trainer....Come again?!?
  • I do 1200 a day, and eat back my exercise calories - usually anywhere from 100-500 on any given day. My weekday breakfasts are hard boiled eggs, with the yolk removed and the eggs are restuffed with either salsa or sometimes chopped ham. I throw my coffee and some sugar free creamer and I'm full until late morning. I have…
  • For the most part, I try to reduce the amount of simple carbs and refined sugar. When we were trying to conceive, I did low carb, and that combined with metformin helped get pregnant twice. Now I'm just trying to be healthy and realistic. I know that my symptoms worsen when I eat a ton of sugar and processed carby junk, so…
  • When I do my meal plan, I usually try to frame it similarly to a school lunch menu. Meals usually look like - Spaghetti (whole grain noodles) w/ meat sauce, steamed veggie (frozen) or bagged salad, and fruit or something light for dessert. I budget 400 a month for my family of 4 and can usually do that. Breakfasts are…
  • Know that if you weigh yourself immediately tomorrow morning, you may see a temporary gain, but it will show water weight from the sodium or carbs that are causing you to retain water. It's not a fat gain, so don't fret over it too much!!
  • I keep a google calendar for the family events, and then have a menu calendar too, so I can overlap what we're eating vs. what's going on. I try to do a month at a time, do one afternoon of shopping and some minor food prep, but it's what works best for my family of 4!
