Spot something in the transition that will help you find your bike when you run in.... trust me, all of the bikes and racks look the same! Some people count racks.... by the time I get there I either have forgotten that number to I forgot to start counting when I get in. I look for something outside the transition area…

It all starts with creating a habit. Pick a good time for you and go for a walk. Its a lot harder to be lazy outside. Make it a plan that on these 2 days a week at this time, I will go for a walk. Do that for 2 weeks and then maybe add another day. It is hard to find motivation at first. Find some good music to make it…

1) I love trails..... but I run more on pavement. I hurt my knee on a trail run and now it scares me to run on them..... one bad step and I am done! 2) I love the spring!

Mine was a couple of years ago. I was not even 30 yet. I went to bed every night with a heating pad next to my bed knowing that at some point I would need it to soothe the back pain. I had 2 little boys and would get exhausted playing with them. I was not obese, just overweight. I realized that if I didn't do something, I…

I have everything from Metallica to Joe Nichols to Pitbull. I just added Ain't It fun by Paramore and I love running to it. PS - I am that girl that is dancing while she runs........... my neighbors think I am crazy

I am not sure where you are from, but where I am there is a local track club. They have several different running groups from beginners to long distance kick butt runners. I know that it can be scary, but a large part of this MFP getting healthy process is trying new things. I think you should go for it. After a couple of…

Hello! I am Jen! After 2 kiddos, I was heavier than I felt comfortable with. I have lost the weight and now i am in maintenance. I just found this group amazing enough! I am a runner, triathlete, mama of 2 little boys and an accountant.

Hello! I'm Jen! I started running about 2 1/2 years ago.... hurt my knee after a year and was out for a few months. I run at least 3 times a week. I used to run more often but I have started doing triathlons so my training varies a little more. I worked myself up to a half marathon in February (Daytona Half) and…

Try your best to stay calm and relax. Try your hardest not to race in the swim. That might sound silly, but if you race and start loosing your breath then start to panic it can equal disaster. My first OWS, I stayed relaxed as much as possible and had an awesome swim.... like 5th overall out of the water awesome. My last…

Thanks! My first transition I purposely took my time.... I was so uncomfortable after the swim that I wanted to take my time and regain my composure. I know where I can shave time. I've spent half my life watching my mom do tris, but I am still very much a rookie and I am still just competing against myself and figuring…
