Yes, it is bad. I did it once and it got dramatically worse. Maybe it was going to get dramatically worse anyway but I don't think trying to get your body to exercise while it is fighting an infection is clever. Get well soon!

Lots of good replies. I would also ask how good your "intuitive eating" is. It took me over 2 years of MFPing to get to a point where I don't have to log anything and am able to maintain.

It happens. You just end up replacing old friends with new friends who have a similar approach to life and health. I found that I ended up spending more time in pubs as a result of taking up more sports. :D

Fine. I've done a tai chi class (60 minutes) followed by squash (30 minutes) and then strength work (45 minutes) then in the evening played tennis (90 minutes), so 4 sessions. I nicknamed those days when I did it every week "Terrible Tuesdays". Only to rival Suicidal Saturdays - 2-3 hours of tennis in the afternoon and 1…

If I'm playing outdoors in winter, I just wear loose fit cargos/combats. :D

All you will do is lose water then any apparent improvements in leanness will be gone the minute you start rehydrating. It will just make your workout more uncomfortable as you'll just feel hotter and you're less likely to enjoy it. You tend to burn more calories in a cold environment. I'd focus on finding ways of…

Here's a tip: always pee when you have the opportunity to as you don't know when you may get the chance to again. Well, you did want tips for "older people".

The benefits of weighing everyday or even every 6 hours are so that you can see how much your weight fluctuates over time even with a solid weight loss plan in place. It will be interesting... ... or an utter soul destroyer. Only you will know which.

Lift metal lumps.

Couscous - £1.40 per kilo Tesco Everyday Value White Fish Fillets 520G £1.90 Tesco Sweet And Crunchy 370G £1.50 Some kind of flavouring for the couscous eg salt, herbs That's good for 6 meals for £1 each, post-Brexit prices! Easy to prepare - I can do it and I can't be arsed with cooking. Yeah, it'll be the same meal every…

Tennis. Dodgeball's a giggle. Indoor climbing is a bit intense on the fingers but my mind wants to continue after my body's quit for the day.

Nobody will be watching you let alone judging you. But who cares if they are. Their opinions are irrelephant in your life. It's like irrelevant but has a long nose.

3/4 of a sharing bag of cheese nachos!

I can easily hit my protein goals without the need for shakes. It just means I get to eat more chicken drumsticks.

I probably wouldn't look at bothering to diet tomorrow but otherwise you'll find loads of support here. Just don't ask about healthy food.

Could work if you're used to IF. It's not just skipping meals under any other name. I would go for 16/8 with the following schedule: 24th: finish eating at 9pm 25th: lunch at 1pm, enjoy food as you will until 9pm 26th: lunch at 1pm, enjoy food until 9pm 27th: lunch at 1pm, resume diet. PS Christmas calories don't count.

Some people say you should try drinking a glass of water before your meal to help fill out the space. I don't know if this really works as I've not tried it.

Nothing - I'm so tight I hardly spend money on getting fit. If I quit, I can always sell my plate weights to a scrap metal dealer.

FWIW I pedal on a gym bike while watching YT videos or reading when I want to keep my cardio levels up. Seems to work. As for enjoying running and sprinting, I do find it handy to be able to sprint across a tennis court but I would never find it fun to go on a 5k run (I did long distance running in school and hated it).…

How bizarre. I've never owned or used a tracker nor do I intend to.

Sure it wasn't one of these? https://www.treasureislandsweets.co.uk/marshmallow-foam/giant-bumper-sweet-bananas.html I know someone who ONLY drinks Pepsi Max. I swear he'd go psssst if I cut him.

The OP wants to lose weight and tone up. Don't need a healthier heart than normal to do that. Edit: changed wording as we're assuming the OPer doesn't have a healthy heart otherwise.
-
Well, you don't NEED to develop your cardiovascular fitness unless you have a requirement to be able to, say, sprint 100m or run for miles. Personally, I drive to the gym. ;)

Rather than wall tennis, I'd recommend building a squash court. I've spent many an hour playing with myself. Let me rephrase that. I've burnt a load of cals just practising inside a squash court aiming at targets (marks) for instance, or practising tennis serves inside a squash court. As well as a climbing wall, after…

The time you eat is irrelevant. Your metabolism doesn't grind to a halt at 11pm. Well, unless you die at 11pm. Eat when you can and don't exceed your calorie goal. Also, if you're doing late shifts, does that mean you are getting up later and going to bed later eg 2am? If so, you're not eating late at all.

Depends on how hot it is. Today I will be sweating as it's about 28C.

Would it stop you eating junk food if it were 10% more expensive?
