  • If you are passing the water, and not holding it in I believe it would be safe to drink more than 8 glasses of water a day. If you drink one 16 ounce glass an hour or every hour and a half that would give you a gallon in a days time and still be reasonable. especially if it replaces your other fluid intake.
  • hey toots have I told you today how proud I am of you?. I am proud of you for starting a new life for yourself, for choosing health and deciding you are worth the time and effort that this new life will take. Have I told you that I think you are an incredible person with reserves of strength you haven't even discovered in…
  • if you over indulge, then you are probably setting yourself back a bit, the trick is to only have that day, or that meal. If it means that you lose two pounds instead of three and that is ok with you, then I don't see a real problem. you shouldn't feel guilty about it, but I like the idea of rewards not having to do with…
  • beanyspoon that's a good idea, I am having the same problem with 2 meals and the possibility of going over. its always close or just a touch. I count my coffee as breakfast  and I have a protein at 11, lunch is at 1:30, maybe I should eat more then? hmmm...good idea
  • start 215 now 203 goal 199 4 pounds?? I don't know, its going to be close, but I broke through the 205 I have been hanging onto for a week, so maybe. 9 days...we can do this.
  • you rock!!:drinker:
  • try more protein. same calories, but they are burned slower so you feel less hungry. I am lucky, I don't get hungry, but I eat almost all protein and very few carbs. and none of those are junk, fruit and veggies. I even try to stay away from grains, but you really should try them anyway. some people find that oatmeal or…
  • I spread a small pan with 1/4 ish of fresh shredded parmesan cheese and bake at 350 for a few minutes, till its light brown, cool, and break it into chips and eat with salsa. a serving of what I use is 110 cals for the cheese and 10 for the salsa. I also make meringues and season them with salt and cayenne, bake at 200 for…
  • Thanks, I knew it would slow down, but I didn't know it would just stop. 40 days and 15 pounds ok, I guess, but its been 10 days without a nudge. maybe I am forgetting to log stuff. I do try to be so careful, but....plus I am menopausal, or pre menopausal or what ever it is you call all the mood swings, hot flashes AND…
  • I weigh every day, add it up then divide by 7 for the weekly average

  • Josephs makes a thin pita, that can be made crisp, put some goodies on top. the pita is only 60 calories, the rest is up to you. or try a pizza wrap. using a ww wrap or flat bread (lite ones are available 90 cals) lay out your sauce, and fillings roll up tight, wrap in tin foil, bake for a few minutes, then cool and slice…
  • great...you start the thread and I will look at my recipes. and I totally agree with the 100 cal pack definition!!
  • hey, its a whole grain, you can have it for dinner!! I ahve a friend air pops it, (remember those) and sprinkles it with wheat germ or something else health that smells like feet. :noway: but air popped is actually pretty doable. though you should add a protein in there somewhere.
  • Ok, time for some tough love kiddo. WE ALL have bad weeks. You fell last week and not only did it hurt, it was embarassing. BEEN THERE. Don't use it as an excuse to not do some exercise...if you are really determined and really do want to change you will find away around any problems.... for instance.....you can still do…
  • jam a couple of rice cakes in your purse, and a baggie of cut up celery and carrots and by pass that popcorn. goodness only knows what that greasy stuff is they pour on it actually is.
  • fast food, is an opition, its not mandatory. dining out is an option, porton sizes....option. what I am getting at is they can't FORCE us to eat this crap. I ordered a salad at a small restaurant yesterday, it was huge. filled with fresh toppings, and bacon, and boiled eggs. I asked for salsa instead of salad dressing. I…
  • so, adjust calories which way? up or down? I have increased my exercise a bit, from 500 cals burned to approx 700 burned. I will try to increase to 1000 burned a day. do I need to take my food down? I eat between 12-1400. 1200 - the 500 deficite has given me the results so far, but now, I have done everything I can think…
  • Pillsbury also offers a no sugar added chocolate or vanilla cake mix and frosting. I have only seen them online so far. but the last time they had tastekakes that were sugar free, we bought a box and loved them, they showed up at the grocery a few months later.
  • laugh, yes, I tried all of those mentioned. a couple days here, there, just anything to shake it up. I am not racing through it, well, I guess I am, because of the 100 limit. I want to see how far, how fast. for just those hundred. then I will take a small break, regroup, read my journal and see what the next plan of…
  • yes, natural is better in most ways. one reason the people in the past could eat a diet higher in fat and 'bad' foods, is the fact they worked for a living. of course by that I mean in a physical way. most jobs have gone computerized or in someother way less physical and it makes a huge difference in what the body can…
  • :explode: after more than 30 days of steady weight loss I have dropped 15 pounds and then nothing. and I mean the big nothing. I have increased calories, decreased calories, upped my workouts, lowered my work outs changed them up to work different muscles, done them at different times of days, add some fat, took some fat…
  • I ALWAYS thought a serving was however much I wanted at a time. laugh.
  • I think after the second week, you begin to get overwhelmed. its forever, forever, forever, and that is more than a little daunting. Try it by the day, or even the hour. for this one hour I will make healthy eating choices. not tomorrow, or next week, but right now. I set a 100 day journey. why? because I knew I couldn't…
  • a hundred calories of a real oreo....what's that, you get to sniff the bag and cry. until they load those puppies up with megavitamins, no sugar, all healthy stuff, I am afraid the package is as close as I get. I know what you mean about the artificial crap. I do dump way too much of that into my system, and I am…
  • You guys deserve all the credit. Your support and knowledge has really helped me to understand, I contol me. Thanks:blushing:

  • no breading, no rice, no beans, no pasta, use low carb veggies, baked cabbage is great. try shredding a chicken breast into Josephs low carb pita. or a low carb wrap. italian beef over low carb noodles, or baked cauliflower. cut a head of cabbage in half, core it, take out several of the center leaves, fill it with meat…
  • It will not completely ruin your day to have the small slice of cake, but think how much better your day would be if you passed on the cake as if it were nothing....and it is, and the next time you weighed in and there was a loss you knew it was because you were strong enough to pass on the cake. take the cake, set it down…
