As a fellow migraine sufferer I can say that quitting anything cold turkey that you've been eating or doing for years could cause it, depending on what your personal triggers are. Like others have said, there is nothing inherently wrong with eating a little chocolate, or a little sugar each day. The key is moderation. If…

I mix them in my yogurt and my oatmeal in the mornings. There is a difference in how long you feel satisfied with them. Before I use to be wanting my mid morning snack no later than 9 am (I eat breakfast at 6:30), but now I'm good at least till 10am, if not longer.

My dear, dear Pru- you are amazing! It's so inspirational to see how far you have come, and how many challenges you have had along the way. But you've proven that those challenges don't have to be roadblocks, and against the odds it CAN be done! Your transformation has been truly awe inspiring! I am so very very proud of…

I'm an alfredo fan, and found a great mock alfredo sauce: 1 cup fat free milk 6 laughing cow light cheese wedges (we particularly like the french onion or garlic and herb but any will work you just need to adjust the other seasonings accordingly) fresh minced garlic to taste onion powder to taste basil & parsley to taste…

I don't know that there is any one particular meal that I can reccomend for always being cheap, as much as I can give you tips for buying. For produce my family only eats whatever is on sale. Usually that means whatever is in season. We buy whole ftuits (watermellon, cantelope, pineapples, etc.), and cut them ourselves to…

Well, looking at the few days of history you have in your diary I would say that you need to up your fat intake. Fat in you diet has the effect of greasing up the intestines and getting things moving again. Also, I don't know if you aren't drinking water, or if you just aren't logging it, but make sure you drink plenty. If…

The biggest thing you can do is to eliminate as many processed foods as you can from your diet. If it comes in a box or can it is probably loaded with sodium. Processed meats are also frequently high in sodium. The more fresh, unprocessed foods that you can incorporate into your diet the less sodium you'll find yourself…

The key is finding something that's fun, rather than something that's "exercise". I got into walking around the nature trails at our local park, and just enjoying the outdoors at first. My work also has a WalkingSpree program where you can earn prizes for how many steps you put in, or for walking more steps than your…

I get up at 4am. Ideally I have breakfast & lunch packed and my clothes laid out for work the night before, but if not I have to do all that and get ready. I grab a quick snack (usually almonds or a cheese stick), and I'm in the car headed to work between 4:30-5. At work we have a track, so I walk from whatever time I get…

We have a 3 year old black Pug named Bella. She's a character!

Yes! I have one with a platform that I put my plate on and hit the tare button. Then as I load up my plate I log the quantities of everything by weight. My biggest shocker was actually fruit. What one person considers a "medium" piece of fruit may not be the same as what I consider a "medium" piece of fruit, but 28 gr (1…

Did you replace the battery in both pieces (the strap and the watch)? They are different batteries, but if you only replaced one that could be why it's not working. Also, did you wet the strap well before you put it on, and rinse it when your done and wash it every 5th use? I'm wondering if there is a bit of a buildup and…

So glad it's not just me. My husband snickered when I groaned as I tried to get on and off the toilet this morning. I just started the 30ds 3 days ago. I pretty much do the Anita moves, but even that is rough!
-
I started the 30ds on Friday. My thighs, shoulders, and abs are killing me. However from everything I've read the idea is that you should push through the pain to see the maximum results. That assumes that you didn't do something to cause an actual injury, and your pain is just due to muscle soreness.

Very cool. I get bored easily, so this will be great.

You probably can't get her to use the treadmill unless she wants to. I thought I would love mine too, but my hubby uses it WAY more than me. I just get bored walking in place for very long- even with the TV right there. It's not that I never use it, but it's just not what I thought it would be. What you might be able to do…

It bothers me too, but for me it's mainly just extra skin. I have a little bit of weight to lose yet, but hopefully as I lose that and tone up in general it will slowly shrink back into place. I've heard it can take up to 2 years after a significant weight loss for your skin to shrink to where it's ultimately going to be,…

I completely agree. When I first started this journey I went out and bought a bunch of Smart Ones entrees. The front of the package says they're something like 250 calories for the chicken taco thingies. However when you look at the back there are 2 servings per box, and there is no easy way to fix just one serving. Not to…

Hi everybody! I was born and raised in SW Michigan (Berrien Springs) before moving to Ann Arbor for college (go blue). Now I live in Madison Heights and work in Downtown Detroit.

I have a diet drawer with gum, crystal light, popcorn, almonds, fiber one bars, and sugar free candy. I also almost always have a bunch of cut up fruits & veggies with me that I eat throughout the day rather than eating specific meals (though you wouldn't know it to look at my log since I just log them closest to when I…

We take 3 wedges and a cup of fat free milk and heat it till it's smooth to make a "skinny" alfredo sauce. I also add garlic & herbs if I'm not using the seasoned cheese. Use it with pasta, over chicken, on potatoes, or anywhere else you want an alfredo type sauce.

I too am a chronic heartburn sufferer. Just losing weight has helped a lot, but any time I eat anything spicy or anything highly acidic (tomatoes, citrus, etc.) I still suffer. The other thing I've noticed is that fatty foods trigger my heartburn. Since I've tried to cut my fat down, and completely eliminated anything…

Yes, you can lose that way. It's all about calories in vs. calories out to lose weight. That being said you would probably feel like you were starving all of the time if you actually managed to eat like that for very long and stay within your calories. Not to mention that you wouldn't see nearly as many of the health…

Ideally I walk outside, but when I can't I pick a TV show that is a guilty pleasure and allow myself to watch it when I'm working out. I watch Days of Our Lives, which takes about 45 minutes when I watch it online. So if I watch 2 episodes I can get to the 1 1/2 hours that I try to put in walking.

Yes. I lost over 75lbs about 10 years ago before I was married. I was able to keep it off for a while, but then I hurt my back and could barely get out of bed without help for well over a month. That gave me an excuse not to exercise, that I willingly took, and it was the start of my downward spiral. Then came my daughter,…

Yep. I'm in Madison Heights (slightly north of Detroit).

Well, if you've looked at my diary you might have noticed I'm a Crystal Light addict. I particularly like the Raspberry Peach Fiber because it's the same 10 calories/pk that most of the others are, but it also gives me 3 grams of fiber. I use to drink just plain water exclusively, but I tend to get bored with it. I do…

1, How long did you plan? 8 months 2. How much did you spend? (sorry if that's personal) Was this more/less than you planned? Roughly $10K, which was what we had budgeted. 3. How many people were invited/ how many showed up? We invited about 250, but had about 185 show up. 4. What did you give out for favors (if you had…
