Hi Jessica, I've been here since April 2012 and have lost 25 lbs in 5 months - of which I just recently gained 5 back (dealing w/mom's sudden terminal illness & subsequent death followed by a home burglary). But I'm still here - I may have slowed down but I won't quit. Firstly, I just want to say weight loss is a struggle…

... what she said : Plus, stop thinking something is wrong with you. You're not defective - You've stumbled like so many others have - now get back up. The only difference between success and failure is whether or not you get back up. Plus motivation comes from desire - you want success? Really? Then get back up! If you…

Great job! You look fabulous :) You've done really good - hope you feel great - be proud!

Great topic :) I didn't realize so many women really don't or didn't like being AH moms. I worked from age 14 to 28 when I had my first child. After a few months, I became an AH mom. I loved it but admit that I missed work outside the home - I missed adult interaction and immediate recognition for a job well done. I was at…

Excellent job - congratulations for staying the course - you look great!

I could also use more buddies - feel free to add me if you'd like. I've been on MFP since April - lost 20 & made my first goal thru MFP, yippee! Then mom got seriously ill & passed away from fatty liver :( While I didn't lose any weight during this time, I didn't gain & it's due to always logging in. Now I'm ready to get…

Parsley tea works ilke a diuretic w/o medication - buy dry parsley in bulk or even in the spice section of your grocery store and simmer it like you would tea leaves. You'd think parsley would be just as effective but I've always just drank the tea.

Great job!! You look terrific :)

So excellent! Do deserve to be proud & feel great about yourself - you put in the hard work & the time to teach yourself how to REALLY be good to yourself - awesome :) Enjoy your new life...style :)

Could be your choice of foods are high in fat, etc. - it happens to me. I find I just need to increase my vegetable intake for more calories without the extra fat ... when I want to be a good girl :)

awesome! wtg!! you look great ... and younger :)

I was just thinking how I really need to get into exercising - I've lost 23 lbs (20 with MFP) and while I feel good about the loss, I do feel kinda flabby. Plus, I need to jump-start my "diet" and I think this is just the ticket :) Let's shake it!

Absolutely terrific!! You worked hard & never quit and now you are reaping the rewards of all that work: looking fabulous and being healthy & strong. It's great that you have reached your goal while young - you have so much life ahead & now you can plow thru it w/strength & dignity. Remain good to yourself!
-
You worked smart & hard and you have been well rewarded - you look fantastic!! Your smile reveals your confidence - kudos!
-
Excellent job! Kudos to you for all your efforts & perseverance - remember daily that it was worth it because you look great!

I've been drinking water w/Crystal Light for sweetness to which I add Fiber-Sure (no taste, mixes smoothly) - I usually have it just before I leave work because the time I get home from work is usually when I'm weakest - the added fiber & water seem to eliminate cravings or desire to graze. I also go to bed at a regular…

Don't know your weight or goals, but I'd say that if you are going over more often than not, then you probably have your calories set too low. If you go over because you are actually really hungry, then you very likely are set too low. You aren't going to do well or stick with your plan, if you're always hungry. Otherwise,…

bump - thanks!

Just don't give up! My scale went up 2 and down 2 for a time, and then didn't move for a whole month. After 2 weeks in a row of no loss, I skipped a week so as to not let the scale affect me negatively. Suddenly, yesterday, I had a 4 pound loss. So, just keep your focus on your goal & keep going in that direction! :)

I'm more like you - since I started eating healthier, I aimed for at least 25g of fiber but was feeling bloated & constipated until I increased my water from 8 to 10 minimum.

looking good - great job!

Ditto. I relate to what you said, having once been on a successful hi-protein diet (which included very low fruits & veggies). I too gained it all back & plus, but I know higher protein & no processed carbs are ideal so I'm finding my own balance (and MFP helps me to do this by tracking my macros). This post raised an…

I'm no expert, but I'd say increase your protein (lean protein, of course) and decrease carbs & sodium. Easy way to reduce sodium - eat nothing (or close to nothing) out of a box, can or jar. DASH diet (government sponsored blood pressure help) suggests 1500mg of sodium per day for women. Definitely drink at least the 8…

Hmmm ... sorry, I can't help. I work at trying to get enough fiber in! I wish you well with your diverticulitis - hope it's something you can recover from or heal :)

I'd say no - but I do use them in a pinch (when I have to eat something & I don't have time to cook; and I'm so hungry I risk eating fast food or something really high in calories & fat :D). But I'll add veggies & protein (when I have some leftover grilled chicken in my fridge). And I won't have one on a day I've eaten…

Dinner was late for me too so I had a Lean Cuisine Chicken w/broccoli & pasta to which I added an ounce of chopped leftover grilled chicken breast to increase my protein (360 calories). Yesterday, I had a big satisfying salad: 5 oz chopped grilled chicken breast, 2 cups chopped romaine, 1.5 TB chopped red onion, 1 celery…

Stalled for a couple of days? A couple days are nothing to fret about - IMO. I'm no expert but you are keeping within your macros and you're not gaining, so maybe just need patience. But I would definitely drink the 8 glasses of water and take in some veggies & fruits (they're good nutrition and for digestion). If still…
