  • I've never thought about this before! I've never weighed myself naked, and the thought that others might had never occured to me....until now. And I'm seemingly in the minority. I don't own a scale so I use the gym scale (although, when i did own a scale I still always wore clothes). It's not in the locker rooms, but…
  • A hot off the grill pettite steak. And 5 tortilla chips....then I threw the bag on top of the refridgerator so I couldn't reach it. Tortilla chips are my sweetest downfall. I know they're up there though, thinking about how good they'd look processed into fat on my behind!
  • I swear by the freezer. Make enough for more than one meal then ziploc and freeze. I regularly buy frozen fruits and veggies. I'm single and become wasteful if they aren't frozen. Also, you can buy fruits/veggies that are out of season at a reasonable price. -Whole wheat pasta is cheap, and baked into a ziti or something…
  • I keep mini cocolate chips in the fridge and measure out a teaspoon when I'm desperate for chocolate. Since they're so small if you eat them slowly they last longer. I also sprinkle a teaspoon of them on 1/2 cup of strawberries w/ a tablespoon of ff coolwhip. Yum.
  • If your family thinks you're being a "picky eater" maybe you could work out a schedule where you cook at least x times a week so you can coordinate your 'picky habits'. If you are planning on getting up early and worry about waking everyone....just go to the apt gym you mentioned. You'll get a more diverse workout and not…
  • Buy a set of measuring cups. I felt like an idiot the first few times I was measuring out my food, but it helps so much. Now I have a much better idea of what a correct serving is of the foods I eat, especially the ones I eat regularly. Measuring meat is really difficult, I didn't buy a scale to measure out the 3 oz, but,…

  • I used to live in Chicago and I'll say....that one is TOUGH since there is so much delicous food!!!!! I'd say buy your breakfasts at a grocery store. Find something low cal but nutritious like some fruit and microwavable oatmeal. If the weather is cool, there is a lot of good soup and that can help cut down on cals. Also,…
  • From what I understand, sweating isn't indicitive of calorie burn. Everyone sweats a different amount. However, make sure you are drinking more than enough water and try adjusting your sodium intake.
  • Can you bring in your own snacks? A bag of popcorn, celery and carrot sticks, a jug of water? Not only will you save calories, but money too!
  • Welcome!
  • I'm the same way Mary, I love to bake. I work to find community bake sales and volunteer to make goodies for them. I get to bake and it goes to a great fundraising cause!
  • If you get tired of eating the same thing everyday, you can cook say, 3 big batches on a weekend when you have some time and freeze them in gladware...then you've got your own homemade frozen dinners. As for a recipe....I swear by the crockpot, so here is one I got from skinnytaste.com Pork Carnitas 2.5 lb pork shoulder…
  • My family used to pack sandwiches in a cooler and stop for lunch at a park along the way. Its cheaper and healthier than fast food and, honestly, made for a great memory! Snacks on vacation wise, how about some cheese and crackers....I really like the laughing cow cheese (or string cheese. If you're really craving…
  • Despite the fact that you are a Florida Gator (I'm Tallahassee born and bred) I found a muffin recipe that looks pretty delicous. In my pumpkin escapades I've never tried muffins, so no promise if they're any good or not. http://recipes.health.com/recipes/522319-pumpkin-muffins
  • Havent tried them yet-- but here is a recipe for Pumpkin Cookies I've been dying to try...did I mention they're THIRTY-FIVE calories each!? 1 cup canned pumpkin 1 egg 1/2 cup plain yogurt 3 tablespoons honey 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour 1 1/4 cups Splenda granular 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1…
  • She might be truly concerned about you and that is a good feeling, however, from this aspect quite annoying. Discuss your weightloss with your doctor and be under his or her guidence, then in complete truthfulness you can tell your friend you appreciate her conern but this diet and exercise and target weight are what you…
  • Cold grilled cheese (unless you have a toaster oven or something at your lunch destination) and a side salad? If you have some tomato or veggie soup in the pantry even better. And a peice of fruit.
  • Awesome! Thanks.
