I would love to cosplay, although never actually done it yet. Azula, Rayne, Jill Valentine, Sophitia and Morrighan Aensland being the top ones for me (no way can I pull those off now :P) Either that or a High/Drow elf... or Zelda if I'm feeling particularly fun. Failing that, I love anime and computer games. Hehe Add me if…

That theory would work - except that MFP already has the deficit built in, so by not eating exercise calories you're increasing the deficit too high. Other than that, If you have cals left, you can use it for protein-filled items like nuts and legumes, or use it for treats - whatever works

That's a fantastic and wonderful story! You have an amazing family, too :D Congratulations!

And this is why I'm not even bothering with a silly fad. Fat loss rather than lean muscle mass should be the way forward for a healthy lifestyle. No purpose in doing two lots of work to build the muscle back up that you've lost through VLCDs when you can just maintain the muscle in the first place. These 'drop 7lb in one…

Same here, to both :P My youngest one does the same as well. The guy in Subway looks at me for clarification when both of them ask for olives - as if it's an odd thing for a child to eat :P

This. If you're continually losing more than 2lb a week, you run the risk of losing muscle mass rather than just fat. I'd probably start upping the cals to about 1500 if that's the case. It's not a question of starving.. more about fuelling your body for working out.

This - coupled with other articles about weight training for women Both judgemental articles based on an opinion that worked for one person doing one type of thing. While I'm aware of how incredibly difficult the latter is to achieve for women - I just want to say, what if the answer is yes, to either question? Does that…

I joined a while ago, but I've got a fair way to go :P I've lost almost 70lb though - feel free to add me for motivation and encouragement :D Good luck!
-
This. 200 or so cals under isn't so bad, but too much really is.
-
Just by looking at those calories - a 32 year old male should be eating way more than 1300. I eat 2000 calories myself, and I'm losing 2lb a week, although sometimes less. I hope that you're adding in your exercise calories and eating those - I'd honestly estimate (although can't make an educated guess since I don't know…

I want to congratulate you. You're here, and it's a good step in the right direction. It's going to be hard, but deep down you know you want to do it otherwise you wouldn't be here making the decision. I can't give you much advice beyond what's already been said, but just taking those baby steps will mean it'll get easier…

If you have plenty of calories left, then sometimes it's ok (although I know it's not exactly healthy). If you don't- then you could try chewing gum, or drinking water. Or do other things besides just watching tv. Working out will give you more cals anyway :P
-
That's absolutely amazing. The transformation is fantastic :D
-
This. MFP calculates the deficit for you.. so if you burn 1000cals from a workout, then you'd be eating 2350 for the day.
-
You look fantastic hon! :D
-
It'd sure be nice - although the Wii/Kinect etc helps some :P Good luck on your journey :D

This. Aim to net 1200 at least as a minimum. If you're under a little, that's fine, but try not to come in with loads remaining. It's never about losing weight faster, but more about losing weight in a healthy and sustainable manner. There are a lot of people (although I only speak for myself and nobody else) who lose…

This. My diet isn't the best of diets, and I know I need to clean it up :p But chocolate is nice, you know? With that said, when I am eating a lot better, I make sure that the exercise I do is geared to making my body fitter and stronger, and less about a number on a scale - even though I am trying to get that number down…
-
That is absolutely fantastic! - You are fantastic! And so inspirational :D
-
If I knew I wanted to eat some junk at 500+ cals then I'd have a few options: - I'd do it. I know it's an hours+ walk (or some other exercise) for me, so I go do that :P - I check my log to see if I can fit it in with the workouts I've been doing. - I go over - once in a while doesn't hurt my progress Or - I don't bother…

Sheffield here :)

So much love.

That's a fantastic job!! Congrats on your hard work and dedication!

Anything you've been doing regularly before the pregnancy is good to keep going.. until you feel that you're straining yourself, and you should find yourself taking it easier towards the end anyway. Make sure you're talking it over with the doctor and such though. If you have a fair bit to lose, then eating at maintenance…

And on the plus side, it means you get to eat more food ;)

I almost got to the end of Stage 1, and had to stop due to illness. It was about 9 months before I got the all clear to go again, and to be honest, I've found it better and easier for me to start over. I have better form, and I'm able to concentrate on the weights and my abilities rather than being nervous about new…

Congrats to have come this far :D Have you thought of ebay, charity shops/thrift stores... or borrow from friends, maybe?
-
Apparently, weetabix is nice with it.. I don't know, but a friend eats that all the time :P Pasta and pizza bases go well, as do salads. Basically, almost anything you use a spread or dip with, you can use hummous with. I said almost - some things don't work :P
-
Yep. 1632, and anything you burn. Although like others have said, sometimes MFP exaggerates. If a new exercise is added for one person, then the next time it's used, it just uses the same formula for everyone. While it varies between people, it's not as accurate as it could be. I tend to eat about 45% of my cals back, but…

This. I was skinny until I was about 13/14. So some of it was hormonal... My eating habits didn't really change at all, and I had snacks and food that varied. What it boiled down to was that I was so active until then, and then I found that reading or being in front of the computer was more fun than hiking.
