If you eat at BMR, you should eat your exercise cals back. If you eat TDEE -20%, then you don't need to. It does take a good few months for your body to ease up, and you're definitely not sedentary if you do all that stuff - even mine's set to lightly active, and I'm a stay home mum (I eat between 1800 and 2500 - but I…

Good luck on your journey. You seem to be doing everything right for you, so keep going with the baby steps, and soon you'll be running. Or at least lifting heavy ;) Congrats for coming this far :D

I think I'm just agreeing with the consensus here, but I'd say that 1600 cals is how much you need to maintain weight while doing nothing. Eating under that, and adding in exercise as well means you're holding on to most of the weight. Like the others have said, find out your TDEE and eat 20% less than that. If you're…

That's pretty much, yep. But you might find that MFP puts your BMR a little lower than it probably could be. It put me at 1350, but my BMR is 1485.. so I know I have about 100cals of leeway when I don't exercise.

My thinking is that you already know what you want to do.. It doesn't matter what anybody else would do, only what you want to do, and what you feel is right. Dump him, or lose weight - but make sure that you're making the choice that would ultimately make you happy.
-
Congrats!!! That's brilliant :D
-
Full of win. That and the OP, of course.

This for me, too. Even at the end of the diet it says "you should only HAVE to starve yourself once a week instead of twice. On total rest days, people shouldn't eat less than 1200 unless they've got other medical conditions that require that - or they're really short. Anything that promotes losing weight 'fast', is just a…

Sheffield here :D

What everyone else said. TDEE-20% or BMR + exercise cals. Just make sure you set it properly, MFP tends to be a little off with that. And don't beat yourself up about 8lb! *hugs* Good luck with it :D
-
Wishing you loads of luck with it! Try eating more of those exercise cals, and making sure that there's a lot of strength training. I've always said I don't care if I weigh 5lb or 500lb (clearly an exaggeration :P), as long as I fit into a certain dress size and look and feel a certain way. The spreadsheet that comes with…

I've been doing this too. I love it :D

Sadly not, but congrats on your upcoming wedding! 2stone in that time is a great thing, and you can do it! :D

I weigh 225, and I'm a UK 14-16 in tops, and a 16-18 in bottoms. I'm 5' 7" My goal is about a 10.. although I'll be happy at whatever weight, I'm aiming for about 140 (but will assess when I get to my goal size). Lift. Lift heavy. Rest. Lift some more. Eat more. Maybe add in a bit of cardio just to break things up. That's…

This. *hugs* I hope you find what works for you. I eat about 2000 cals, and if I find I've got 500 cals left, hey, I get chocolate :P Whatever works :D
-
I just want to give you hugs for the episode clip x Dr Who ftw. That being said - I'm just going to echo the paleo type diet. If you're on a budget, buying in bulk is so much better, especially for other types of flours.Or buy the ready made GF stuff when they're on offer and freeze it. My sister bought me 8 packets of…

What they should do then, is stop selling oversized bowls and plates, and sell smaller ones. That way, people think they're getting more food than they are. Mini cookies usually mean people tend to eat far more they should - and it has little to do with how many calories or g of sugar they contain. Nouvelle cuisine is a…

Congrats on your weight loss so far!! I log on every day if you want to add me xx

No such thing as starvation mode? So.. losing lean muscle mass isn't a bad thing at all? Firstly, a lot of people on this forum have only repeated this process once. And that once was because they did a stupid low cal diet, and then put the weight back on. Most have only lost weight once, maintained that, and are using the…

You look fantastic, and I love seeing progress pics from women who lift!

Thanks for sharing your story. You have my thoughts for what you've been going through, and although you don't know me, I'll offer my ear (PM box) if ever you need to let off steam. Congratulations though on working hard to change what you've done and make it better for the future. One step at a time can you make a change,…

This.. a thousand likes for this.

I would actually suggest just eating as normal, and then making sure that tomorrow you do that little bit extra just to stay on track. One day of going over isn't going to kill a week's worth of doing it right....
-
Date. Doesn't specify what sort of date then :P
-
This. And if you're trying to lose weight and look slim, people are always so surprised when you tell them you weigh a higher number. It's how to do it right :P

Okay, she is amazing!
-
I'm in the same group - my boobs have gone from a 44D to a 38G. I've still got some weight to lose, but I expect I'll end up around a 34F. The girls aren't going anywhere :P Best thing you can do is just keep at it and hope that your boobs follow suit.
-
Wow! That is an amazing achievement! And you really do look stunning :D Congrats for the hard work!

From Sheffield here. Free equipment is just as effective if you focus on proper form. You've made the decision to come back and do it. That's a good start. Keep that up... start with the basics of just logging and working out when you can, and then kick it up. It's a hard journey - if it was easy we'd all be fit and…

I have to say, that before my computer went down and I lost the data - this has actually worked. And it's worked really well. Thanks for posting it :D
