  • I got rid of mine in 3 weeks by going to the gym, lifting heavy - tricep kickbacks, curls, rows, deadlifts all will help tone the muscle you have. So long as you don't have a lot of extra fat on your arms you should be able to tone them pretty quickly. Watch your calories, eat some protein and lift some weights :) Good luck
  • I'm not familiar with the surgery, why is it they ask you to lose weight before the surgery? I would add in some exercise, and log what you eat - it sounds like you're being good all week then blowing out on the weekend, so planning meals for the weekends might help you heaps. Good luck!
  • Read this - lift weights. http://nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/07/21/meet-staci-your-new-powerlifting-super-hero/
  • This is actually a really good question I'd like to know the answer to. My view is that your body doesn't gain or lose weight overnight, so saving calories over a week or something shouldn't be an issue. On Weight Watchers you can save 'points' for a week and that seems to work awesome for people, so I don't know why it…
  • Am I ever nice?
  • I'm on all the time :)
  • I love MFP forums. I never would have imagined I could ever read 10 pages of debates about water. <3

  • Don't worry, I don't have the rude things you've said mixed up with the rude things other have said.
  • The difference is one is a value judgement (ie you're overweight and therefore gross) and the other is based on actual, measurable things. You know, like disease. It is possible to be obese and NOT morbidly obese - obese and not disease riddled. It is not possible to call someone grossly obese without either intentionally…
  • Thanks for your response to that. I'm still in awe that someone would say something so rude and hateful.
  • Just an FYI - referring to them as gross 'in your head' is still a judgemental, disgusting thing for someone to do. From this I can take it that when you said 'grossly', you did mean gross, not extremely. It's not often I see someone being so blatent about being an ugly person.
  • I second BodyRock.TV!
  • No, but I do find it irritating (gross, even) when people use the term 'grossly obese'.
  • Bodyrock.tv is great, and I love Nike training club (iPhone app) too.
  • The best thing you can do to feel better is exercise. Put on a good sports bra and get to the gym - you will feel better! Hope you feel better soon.
  • I don't consider food 'good' or 'naughty', but I can tell you my current fave - pizza! It's salami, peperoni, cheese, marinara sauce, red onions, green peppers and jalapenios on italian herbs and cheese bread, toasted. Freaking delish!
  • My gym does body assessments every 6 weeks with weight, measurements and BF, and you can reassess your fitness goals. My first assessment is coming up in 2 weeks. Hoping to see smaller measurements everywhere but biceps and thighs, and a decrease in BF! I wouldn't bother doing it anymore frequently than once a month - it…
  • It sounds like you have psychological issues that would best be dealt with at therapy. Your body needs food as fuel. Your body needs exercise, and rest. Exercising for 2 hours a day eating only 1600 calories is unhealthy, and frankly, a little scary. Get help. Please.
  • I'm 5'2 and 213lbs, 47% BF. I'm aiming for 130lbs, 25% BF. First goal: 190s, <40% BF.

  • Are squats easier than lunges? I find lunges really painful - they hurt the side of my supporting foot - any tips?

  • Underwater rugby is all over the UK - it's huge in Germany, but definitely in the UK too. I coach underwater hockey, but stopped playing so I could have more time for underwater rugby. I think the calorie burn would be quite different to waterpolo as it's totally anaerobic - ie 1 breath every 45s or so. Here's a vid of one…
  • Out of interest, how much are you burning in a class? A ballpark would be great :)

  • I live in New Zealand - we're having a training camp and games to select the national team to go and play against Australia later in the year. I'm 1 of 3 girls in the country who play. It's super intense, but because it's so competitive, it doesn't feel much like exercise, which is PERFECT! There are some great youtube…
  • I started a bit late, but so far this month, I'm on 545/1440. That leaves me with an average of 53min/day between now an the end of the month - BUT I have a tournament on this sunday which will be at least 4 hours of activity, so that will help out!
  • I'm planning on starting hte new rules of lifting for women - lots of people have said it's a great programme. Good luck - I know lifting it all a bit scary!
  • Thanks, I'm getting one as a graduation present!
