  • Any kind of nut or nut butter will add a lot of calories. I really like Sunbutter (sunflower seed butter), but since I don't have any trouble maintaining my calories, I don't eat it that often. 200 calories per serving. :) Saute vegetables in oil. Meat, obviously. Cheese. Vegetables with cheese. Fake cheese can work, too.
  • Yep, just because it sets off someone's little OCD trigger these always turn into a long debate. Can't those of you who constantly object, saying "A pound is a pound" just UNDERSTAND that Every. Single. Time. that someone says, "muscle weighs more than fat," they ASSUME you are smart enough to figure out the underlying…
  • This. All I do is keep my simple carbs in check and my hunger seems a lot more "normal." I can even eat a couple of ding dongs, as long as I eat them with something else to smooth out the insulin spike and subsequent sensation of STARVING hunger. I ate very low carb in 2007 when I was losing weight and getting in shape for…
  • Gods no. That sounds like a delicious breakfast, and I generally eat at least half again (and sometimes twice) that. I'd tend towards a little more protein, like a couple of egg whites, scrambled, but that's just because I know I'm very susceptible to getting hungry an hour after eating mostly carbs. Also, have to agree…
  • Heh. I can vary over six pounds in a day. But your belly will show the change in time. Remember to strengthen your core and hit those abs.
  • Last night I went to try on some pants that I haven't been able to wear in about 3 years, just to see how far I had to go. I wore them out last night. All of my current good belts are out of holes. My "good" belt cinches about 2 holes tighter than its current last hole. Yesterday I went to the gym and warmed up, then…
  • My current (smallish) two were each considered for at least a couple of years before I got them, and the next (big) one has been in the planning for 8 years so far. I don't anticipate regretting them, and all will fit under business casual attire, so who cares? Now if we're talking about facial tattoos... I'll just have to…
  • Got out with my GF for a together "wolf trot" jog around the neighborhood. Just a couple of miles of jog/walk/jog/walk... but everything new is an improvement. :)
  • http://atvb.ahajournals.org/content/26/4/729.long Per this non-anecdotal, non-"gut feeling," non-bro-science, actual, peer-reviewed science, you can burn up to 350 additional Calories per day JUST by standing instead of sitting for 2.5 hours. That's up to 1 pounds of fat lost per ten days. I don't think she's "cheating" or…
  • Sounds like you are right on track. Keep going, and you'll be fine. (Do watch out for the starve/binge cycle you might be setting yourself up for with the severe dietary restrictions...)
  • Yep, I ate a bunch of salty junk yesterday, and I could feel the water in my fingers this morning. I knew I was going to show a little higher on the scale. Sure enough, I added two pounds from yesterday morning. By tomorrow it will be gone. Stay focused, look at trends, not spikes.
  • ^^ This. Stop selling your soul for cheap crap. Buy less crap and you can afford higher quality goods. Plus you get to keep your soul. Tell Walmart to shove it. Edit: Sam's Club *IS* Walmart. Same owners, same crap.
  • Nothing I have done in my life has been as efficient at ripping off the weight as eating less and running more. Not everyone wants to get ripped. That's okay. Lots of cardio and a little lifting has and did and does work great for me. And honestly, if you're not a little cynical, you are not paying attention.
  • More nsv, since I am sort of hung at 32 pounds down: Two face pictures taken nine days ago and yesterday show a clear change in my face. I'm getting back the front part of my cheekbones. Lost another half inch on my waist, too. :)
  • Two eggs, two egg whites, lean ground Turkey or some other lean meat, scrambled. Add salsa or some other sauce (or just salt and pepper) and you'll be full without that nasty insulin crash that makes you so hungry. You can cook it up in advance, too, and just nuke it for twenty seconds. With four ounces of lean turkey,…
  • I work for the sheriff's office. We're required to pass minimal fitness standard every year. I was still passing at my"worst" but now I'm doing better. :)
  • Awesome props, eh? Good work!
  • I'm just glad mine are going. :) That said, I've always favored smaller breasts, so it hasn't bothered me when my GF (or my ex-, back then) lost weight/breast size.
  • I started out with it set to 2 pounds per week, but I was averaging 3 pounds per week for the last 10 weeks. I reset it to 1 pound per week about a week ago, but now I'm fasting one day a week. I eat back some to most of my exercise calories (by heart rate monitor), and try really hard to come in UNDER, rather than over…
  • I had mine out at 37. Day 6-7, I started feeling better, but day 8,9, and 10 were the worst. Then I felt almost completely healed by day 12-13. Take the drugs, but be aware they'll affect your mood after a few days. I snapped at my GF while half-asleep at Thanksgiving (day 8 or 9), and regretted it afterwards... though I…
  • See? This place is so awesome, they're even supportive of LAWYERS who want to extend their healthy lifespan. ;) Same boat, feel free to add.
  • THAT? was funny. Thank you!
  • A younger and shorter Stephen King. I'd hope handsomer, too. ;)
  • Jumping rope for ten to fifteen minutes... Or a ten minute run up to orgasm. Also, perhaps ten minutes of burpees without stopping
  • Between Boulder and Longmont. Friend away!
  • Big boobs are WAY over-rated. But hey, you guys keep chasing that "ideal," and I'll take care of the pretty girls with small breasts and good self-images. :)
  • According to their menu, that's over 2,200 mg of sodium, assuming they didn't over-salt (which their cooks often do), and you didn't add any salt. Blurgh.
  • It is ALL, every bit of it, salt causing water retention. Having a binge because you "gained" water weight, especially with ANOTHER super-salty food, is... self-destructive, considering how much the salt/water weight upset you the first time. Stop being mad at yourself, realize there is really not one damn thing wrong…
