I took a month long class, but mostly go by video or my own routine. I still use my regular yoga video, with modifications. It is MTV yoga and by far the best yoga video I have found for beginners and on up. I barely modified until I got into the third trimester. I also do the Gaiam 20 minute prenatal session on Hulu Plus…

I had a scheduled C section with my first, but am going for an unmedicated VBAC this go around and I have been practicing yoga the whole pregnancy. I am due in the next two weeks, so I can report back! I have a feeling it will only help though. :)

Awesome!! I love all of these updates!

That is actually the plan!! I have disk herniations, so any position other than supine is best.

I am squatting 75 lbs at nine months pregnant!! Less than before, but I am stoked to be doing it at all!!

Depending on how much weight I lose with birthing I intend to be able to eat up to 2400 calories per day and still lose once the baby comes. 1200 is very low and would likely effect your milk supply and energy levels. Without breastfeeding I never ate below 1800 to lose. I would find out your BMR and TDEE and eat all of…

Vaccines are tough and very controversial. I personally chose not to do either during pregnancy and we never get the flu shot. I would read the inserts and peer reviewed studies and make the best decision for your family, but I wouldn't blindly take advice from a doc without literature to back it up. Vaccines are my least…

I had a 9 minute mile when I got pregnant. I was very quickly running an 11 minute mile, but I kept up that pace until 31 weeks, then I had to stop running because I just got too big and my sciatica was flaring up. I am curious to see where I will be when I start back up!

I nursed my daughter to sleep until she weaned at the beginning of this pregnancy. She had just turned three when she weaned and nursing to sleep was all she had known. In fact, she had only been nursing to sleep since before she turned two. She was not a day nurser. I kept on because it was such an easy way to put her to…

I started to feel like this at around 34-35 weeks. I was eating what I felt like was a lot (2350 per day), but I increased it anyway to about 2500 or more some days as I was feeling hungry, too. My energy levels were instantly better AND I lost a pound. Go figure, lol. I also made sure I added in some iron rich foods and…

I have multiple herniations in my low back (need a spinal fusion) and am still working out at 37 weeks. I would reccommend a support belt and massages if you can swing it. I also swear by yoga. Honestly, I very much believe it has kept me from needing the back surgery that they told me I needed 12 years ago. I stretch…

I like it ok. I brew it at home easily, but mostly my husband drinks it. We always add in some juice or fruit pulp. It has a nice fizzy taste.

When I have discomforts or am sick I do one tablespoon up to three times per day with either water or juice (much more tolerable with juice, imo), but at the minimum I do one tablespoon each evening to keep symptoms at bay. If you drink it straight it can burn your throat because it is so acidic. It doesn't seem like it…

Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar helped the most Probiotics Ginger chews crackers Luckily, I wasn't too bad. Hopefully others have some good suggestions, too!

Duh, of course ice cream helps!! Whole Foods or other natural food stores sell hemp and other trypes of all natural protien powders. They don't taste great, but I think they would be ok with the right mix ins and they don't have any additives or artifical sweeteners.

I concur with everything you have said and I LOVE your attitude!! I used to buy into all that body doomsday crap, but I don't anymore. I proved to myself that I can look and feel better now than I did in my teens or 20's. All that negative self talk, hunger and body torture was all for nothing. You are right, turns out all…

I steer clear of the processed powders, but have made some of my own at home with cottage cheese, pb and hemp/chia/flax seeds. Very filling and high in protien!

Owen Elias is the name we have chosen. Well, my daughter picked it. :)

Apple cider vinegar, probiotics and garlic can help restore balance naturally. I have had very good results and even eradicated group b strep without meds!

In a perfect world the US would have an actual maternity leave policy. We are one of the only industrialized nations without one. You are lucky if you are covered under FMLA, some people only get disability or nothing at all depending on how big the company they work for is. My personal perfect world would be 12-18 months…

This really is amazing news!! Your birth team makes a huge difference. I think you will do wonderfully. :):)

I didn't change anything the first trimester besides watching my heart rate during cardio. I had to scale back my pace running because it would go above 170 and I felt like that was too much, so I kept it under 165. I never really did crunches, but did boat pose until a couple of weeks ago (I am 35 weeks) and am still…

Yay, thanks!! I will be making these. N biggie on the sugar. I always reduce and bake with xylitol anyway. For some reason I can never leave a recipe as is, lol.

I am a binge eater as well, especially with sweets. I identified my biggest triggers as watching tv in the evening and family gatherings. Luckily, I was able ot find a way to correct this before I got pregnant this time. For me the solution was ALL in the planning. First, I commited to log EVERYTHING. Even if I go 5…

I am still going strong at 34 weeks with lifting, cardio and yoga, so I can report back and let you know. I was not in shape with my daughter, so I have no past experience. I am hoping I don't lose too much, but I am sure it will take a while to get back into the swing of things. I started lifting lightly last year with…

I always ate over 2k to lose and will likely be eating closer to 2600 after this baby makes an escape. Feel free to add me, too!

You look lovely!!!! Happy Birthday!

When all else fails... coconut oil. That stuff works for everything. I am filing this tidbit away...

I had a LOT of cravings with my last pregnancy, but I was very unhealthy at the time. I find that this go around I only crave things when my diet and exercize routines suffer. As long as I am eating enough and eating every few hours, then I am good. It has made things a lot easier. That said, if I want something I eat it.…
