I have a wahoo HRM with chest strap. It has ANT+ so the signal can be read by several iPhone apps. I can listen to music and record my heart rate at the same time. I also really like the graphs.

These are all such great ideas! Interesting to note the 'variations on a theme', for example, almond milk, avocados, whole wheat grains, lean meat and fruit are used often, but in cleverly different ways.... I'm getting some great ideas!!

Ooohh... I really like these two!

I would really recommend NYC Ballet Workout Volume 1 DVD, or Ballet Beautiful Cardio Intro (available on the website for $6.50 with the coupon code PINK15, once you pay you can watch it as many times as you want.) Both of these are really great for strengthening and conditioning the legs. Even better- they are low impact,…

I surprised so many can get away with not washing their hair! I have to every day, and after I exercise (I get sweaty!) This is one of the reasons I exercise in the morning. Then I can shower just once a day. What really annoys me, though, is drying my hair. It takes a long time to dry and I have no a/c in my house, so it…

I just learned to make fish and have an easy way to do it. This is really fast, and really delicious. The juices are marvelous over rice or couscous. I buy Hake (rhymes with 'cake') at whole foods. It's the cheapest fish they have (~6.99/lb), very good, and when it's fresh it doesn't smell. Not once has my kitchen smelt…

Whole Foods: Okios Plain Greek Yogurt Granola (low cal, I put it in my yogurt) Whole Wheat Bread Deli turkey (Fresh Farms organic) Baby Carrots (35 cal per pack) Strawberries, Bananas, Blueberries, Avacados Green Onions, Mushrooms Salad Greens (I like the Organic Baby Romain) White Cheddar Popcorn (Indiana All Natural -…

I love everything on mod cloth. Can't wait to be able to wear those sizes! So close!

3-5lbs. It's ridiculous. I've banned weighing myself anywhere near then. Bad, bad idea that leads to disappointment and confusion.

Holy Cow!!!! You are an INSPIRATION!

I don't own one, but I do ride twice a week- a 20 year old Thoroughbred gelding, Mac, and a 17 year old Mustang mare, Rosie. I ride dressage and am starting to prepare for my first competition (at 31!). I took up riding as an adult, having never been around horses or ridden as a kid. It is THE reason that I started getting…

How is everyone doing?! I absolutely love this challenge. When I exercise now I think in terms of 'getting my miles in'. I've also found that I will push myself those extra 5 or 10 minutes just to get to the mile marker! Also, my dogs are pretty happy :) May 1: 2.54 Elliptical May 2: 3.5 Elliptical May 3: (circuit) .95…

By far my favorite success photo. FTW!!

I do the NYC ballet workout and absolutely love it. Such a gentle *kitten* kicking... To classical music.... With a deep voice reminding you to 'not stick out your buttocks', lol. So great though. I have zero ballet training and am a clumsy oaf, and I can do it. I actually found it MUCH more doable than 30day shred,…

God - I said the same thing. I was 160 when I started dating my (now) husband 10 years ago! What I would give to be starting at 160 instead of 225! Congratulations on your success! It's so inspiring to see that it can be done with hard work and dedication!

That sounds like a really high BMR! Your BMR doesn't have anything to do with your daily activity level. This number is how many calories your body needs for your organs to function properly. For example, if you were in coma, the doctor would give you your BMR. Try this calculator instead. Go here and determine your body…

Good advice!

You are all my 5'6" heroines. I can not tell you all how inspiring this thread is to me. Than you SO SO much for posting :)))))))

COULD NOT AGREE MORE! (Probably why I've had such success exercising early in the day!)

I've had problems with alcohol sabotaging my success as well. I think it might be safe to say at this point that the desire to drink might be caused by something deeper than you realize, or something that you might need help getting under control. I can tell your frustrated. Have you thought about talking with a counselor?

I weigh myself the first of every month. That way I don't get discouraged by daily fluctuations. I work hard and focus on non-scale victories. Then when I get on the scale at the beginning of the month, I'm usually really impressed with myself!
-
Thank goodness for small victories! They keep morale high! You've been working so hard, you deserve that success!

This was the article that I was going to recommend as well. I would recommend determining your target heart rate zones. As the article explains- it's actually your oxygen consumption that determines how many calories you burn. But since there is not way to measure that without a lot of big expensive equipment, monitoring…

If you like to chomp on something- baby carrots are a god-send. A handful is 35 calories, and they come in little snack packets, too. They have the lowest glycemic index you can have (1). I find that if I get home and am starving I can have a packet of those and that will last me until I can cook something. Also you get to…

It works better for me to have an average net calorie goal for the week. There is no option for this on the website, but on the iPhone and iPad, you can easily toggle between your daily calorie goals and your weekly totals. My net calorie goal for the day and the week is 1600 calories. If I go over a little bit one or two…

Have you ever heard of the Skinny (B-word)? It's Diet Coke & Vodka. I did try it once. Pretty unsatisfactory, in my opinion, but I'm a wine girl :)

A PERFECT goal for me! Count me in! GOOD LUCK, EVERYBODY!
