Soup! I make a vegetable soup with no starches (no potatoes, corn, or pasta) about once a week, and eat on that for days. I usually make a tomato/chicken broth base and add carrots, celery, leeks, frozen kale, sometimes a can of canellini beans. It's surprisingly filling and comes out to about 90 calories per cup.

I wear a HR monitor for spin class and burn consistently around 940 calories for a 60 minute class, and 1062 for a 75 minute class. I don't even really push myself that hard... I would say I'm usually at a 5 on a scale of 1-10. What is group cycle?

I just started taking a spin class regularly and it's a great workout. At first I thought I wouldn't like people shouting at me or the pop music, but what makes up for it is that every instructor I've had says at some point during the class, "this is your ride", and you really do have complete control over how hard you are…

Victoria's Secret just came out with this new sports bra that looks amazing. It has two layers and is supposed to be for high-impact exercise. https://www.victoriassecret.com/victorias-secret-sport/sports-bras/knockout-by-victoriarsquos-secret-front-close-sport-bra-vs-sport?ProductID=185688&CatalogueType=OLS Goes up for…

I totally hear ya. In the beginning I felt I really needed diet soda because it felt like you were getting 'something' even though it was 0 calories. There have been studies saying that diet soda makes you crave sweets because the artificial sweeteners inflate your desire for the super sweet and get you used to having…

I don't know how you feel about lifting, but Neghar is 5'1", 125lbs and a bad *kitten*. http://www.negharfonooni.com/ She has what she calls the "Lovely and Lean Recipe" that might give you an idea of where to start and what you want your goals to be: http://www.negharfonooni.com/2013/03/14/the-lean-and-lovely-recipe/ She…

This always cracks me up- in Germany (where I lived for 7 years) they are called "arschgeweih" which means *kitten* ANTLERS (HAAAAAA!HAHAHA!) I've also heard "California license plate" but I think *kitten* antlers takes the cake.

I use a life fitness elliptical at my YMCA and when I do the manual program it asks for my weight and monitors my hr through the handles. I wear a heart rate monitor (which is of course the best way to know) but I always look out of curiosity when I'm finished to see what the machine says. Typically the elliptical is…

Brush your teeth. Or put on a whitening strip. (Sometimes you have to resort to dirty trickery!)

You look like a success story to me!!!! But I could recommend looking into strength training. New Rules of Lifting for Women talks about how strength training can tighten up those areas you mentioned. Without hours of cardio. Plus- you'll be stronger, leaner, and look even more like a victoria's secret model. Might be…

TWO CUPS of cut up strawberries with some readywhip and a drizzle of lite chocolate syrup is a smidge over 100cals.

FUN, VARIETY, plain old TRICKERY! When I first started exercising, I only did what was fun. That worked really well, too. I took up horseback riding, and would go swimming in this nice lake near by. In the winter there was ice skating and a bit of skiing. I didn't like to get all sweaty- so swimming was my favorite thing…

That is really awesome. I'm working on getting into the 170's right now as well and would be THRILLED to see 178 on the scale. Congratulations!

I have a very similar problem. I love wine, and usually if I open a bottle, I will finish it. And then I loose control over what I eat (not to mention that a bottle of wine is as many calories as a whole dinner). I don't really want to go to AA, either. So I'm trying some alternatives. Lately I've had some success with NOT…

I use this french stuff called Leirac Phytolastil it helps a bit.

I read a really good idea in Bob Harper's book "Skinny Rules"... he suggests not eating carbs for dinner- just a lean meat and veg, and also to go to bed a little hungry. Apparently this helps you burn fat throughout the night, for free. Might be an idea you could use. Skipping dinner altogether sounds painful.

All things pork! Try with a pork chop and some green veg!

Yes! I took up riding when I was 225lbs! It was the reason I started trying to loose weight and get fit. It is still a major motivator for me!

It's very easy, simply keep track of how many miles you go during the month when you exercise! I have a few tricks- I take a photo on my camera phone of the elliptical/treadmill read out for distance. I also use mapmyfitness.com, which has an iPhone app that will track my dog walks and give me a map with distance. It also…

Yay! I can't wait to get started. My dogs love all the walks they get with this challenge!!

Just under 48 hours left in May! Good luck to everyone working on their last few miles! I put up a new thread for June, can't wait! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/614795-100-miles-in-june

For me, variety = sucess! I have a long list of exercises that I can pick from according to my mood and energy level. Some are high impact, low impact, more stretching or strength building, or sporting! One thing I have added recently was kettlebells. They are much more fun to me than weight machines at the gym, you can do…

I really like the Crunch: Super SlimDown.

Kettlebells! They are affordable, and there's loads of exercises (cardio and strength) that you can do with them!

I'm so excited because the weather is getting warmer and we can pull out our summer favorites (Beirut, Beach House, XX, Florence + Machine, New Pornographers)! Lately I've been listening to a lot of Beats Antique. They are a little more heavy bass-belly-dancing-electronica than traditional indie- but it's really good…

I have suggested this to MFP. The feature is available on the iPhone and iPad. I use my iPad and track for a weekly average that is my net goal. It tells you how many calories you are over or under for the week and has a bar for your weekly average. Dunno why they don't put it on the website?? It's really useful!

Everyone is doing so well! GET THOSE MILES! Threatening to leave you is certainly an over-reaction, but at least you can give him credit for articulating his feelings. I think most women who take hormone-based birth control experience a decrease in sex-drive. (Maybe that's the real reason it's so effective!) It couldn't hurt to pencil in some alone time. After all-…

It's strange, I think out tastes are evolving. I find that one or two bites is plenty- simple because it's not as good as I remember! I often find things (brownies, coca-cola, candy) Way too sweet. I call it sickly-sweet, and it kinda grosses me out now. It's too much!
