  • Think about it this way. If you lose an average of 1.5 pounds a week. In One year that will be 57.6 pounds. I don't know how fast you would like to loose because there are many factors involved. I think the point I am making is just take small steps and a bunch of small steps after a year is an incredible difference. Like…
  • Some people eat half back because of the inaccuracies in judging how many calories are burnt during an exercise. I do not intentionally eat any back. But it's a nice buffer, if at the end of the day I go over 50-100 calories most likely I am still at more then enough deficit to lose.
  • I put Spring mix lettuce. Tomatoes and those tiny Yellow, Red and Orange sweet peppers. And I put a really good dose of this 0 Calorie dressing. https://www.waldenfarms.com/products/dressings.html Depending on the dressing i will also put a 1/4 cup of Salsa.
  • No Shopping!!! LOL. I have never bought more stuff since I quit eating horribly and Drinking booze. Especially the clothing. Sneakers.. .Shoes... Guitars.... Digital Camera.... Wii U.. Xbox one to name a few!!!
  • I am sure you have heard this all before. But you must eat something every 3 hours give or take. I usually go with every 2 1/2. Something with Protein would help the hunger. And having low cal snacks around in addition helps also. When i get home from work i have a big salad that for the most part is under 100 calories. I…
  • @Annr I agree and i am working on that. I do have plenty of things i love doing. I just try not to be so food focused. Its always been my downfall. I have always enjoyed working out and the last few years have been fighting MMA and doing jiu jitsu. Even though I am 50 I really enjoy fighting. Going back to it probably…
  • Thanks everyone for the input. I do think i need to re-access some stuff. I do believe the alcohol put me down a bad path. But one thing i did that in the past i would let falter is. Even though i knew that the outcome was not going to be positive I weighed myself daily. In the past i would avoid scales and even mirrors…
  • @barbecuesauce I know I am on the low side for sure. But i have to be perfectly honest with myself in saying that I started drinking more and more and then started eating more and more to the point i had to slam on the breaks. I have been drinking a lot of water the last 2 days but do feel like crap. I think it could be my…
  • I ate Turkey and Mashed Cauliflower and some cocktails all within my 1450 a day goal. But from what I can tell i had nowhere near the Fun you guys had! LOL.
  • I have failed many times in the past. I know I can make it stick this time because i don't have a goal or time line other then to eat clean and get to a healthy weight. I have messed up so many time because there was a goal date or some sort of finish line. I know now that this is the way it needs to be for life. Yes…
  • I have 50 more to go but feel tons better. Hang in there it will come off if you stay motivated.
  • Looks like its doing the Job. you look great!
  • Hmmm MFP said if i wanted to drop another 100 calories because i lost another 10 pounds. I said yes to go from 1450 to 1350 it looks like it changes then flips back to 1450?
  • Ok I am in on this thread also :) 74 pounds down probably 40 more to go. Its amazing how awesome everyone looks with a little willpower and determination. Congrats everyone!
  • Ok I am with the crowd of folks that must do this for life. I obviously can't control myself with food so why ignore that fact. I know its a "Problem" but its also a "Problem" if I die of a massive heart attack because I can't trust myself with food. Logging everything and weighing myself religiously is the only way for…
  • This is an interesting topic. I have been feeling "Blue" and dis interested in everything since losing 65 pounds in 3 1/2 months. I think i used the exact words to a co-worker " I find no joy in anything" Me and the Wife have been dealing with her elderly Mom that has been going through a lot of ups and downs over the last…
  • Its funny I have been saying to myself and my wife. I do not want to love food too much. I will never again use it as recreation or reward only fuel. I do enjoy the taste of healthy food, and i log every calorie to make sure i stay accountable. I can not be trusted with food sad but true. Its a fact I will have to live…
  • Thank you everyone for the kind words and encouragement. It will certainly help me move forward to stay on course. Yes it has been hard work and I have yet to drink alcohol or eat above my calories during this long road. I know now that this road does not end or there is no goal other than to keep eating right and…
  • Its funny i had a recent Doc appointment with my Primary Doctor and he was very pleased with the weight loss. I had asked him should i boost my caloric intake and the fact that I was possibly concerned about causing issues with my heart loosing too fast and he actually laughed at me LOL. He was pretty much like "you are…
  • Yea I think i ate that pizza across the street every day. (certainly not NY Pizza) Plus the 30 bucks a week in Dunkin Doughnuts coffee. I loved living in Boston for the 2 years i was there. I saw and played so much good music. I played with most of the free from Jazz guys at the time. We used to reserve the practice rooms…
  • I was there from 89 to 91. I took 6 semesters in 2 years and tested out of a bunch of theory classes etc. It was a large undertaking to graduate that fast and certainly did not help my eating habits. Thank God I never smoked LOL.
  • I want to thank everyone for the encouragement and kind words. This place seems to be more then just counting calories. I do appreciate it. It's funny i actually have a regular Dr's appointment today. I am sure the doctor will be pleased by the fact that i have lost 60 pounds since the last time i saw him.
  • I just recently quit. It was totally messing up my focus. I am down 50 pounds since I started no drinking on June 20th. It really has given me the ability to stay on my program. I don't find myself making a pound of pasta 1:30am covered in some sort of cheese. That is always helpful. :)
  • Inspiration Thank You!
