  • You look amazing! I'm so impressed that you went a whole year with no cheat days. I'm your same age and height and have 130 as my goal, so your success is extra motivational!
  • This is awesome. Would you mind sharing some examples of your favorite make-ahead meals? I try to cook a lot, but think I'm spending way more (both time and $ for groceries) than I have to, which makes it easier to slip up.
  • Thanks!! I've been off MFP for a while but am starting to log again and have been paddling a lot this summer. This will be very helpful. :)
  • Dang, girl! That is motivation! I'm 5'4'' and trying to tone up and get to around 120. I've gotten lax lately floating around 125-127, but I think those few extra pounds could get me looking more like you. Time to get to the gym! (this was in response to ninakira, above. reply fail!)
  • No problem at all! Just checked in for the first time since my last post. Even if the calorie burn is not as high as I may have thought (it's been very interesting to read the debate), I can already tell that Bikram can majorly improve overall strength and flexibility - and who doesn't want that?
  • Thanks for the tips, everybody. I just got back and really enjoyed it. I think I was the sweatiest person there! Luckily I knew to drink plenty of water beforehand. As a guesstimate I logged 500 cals burned, just because I feel like I worked harder than my usual treadmill workout, when I burn around 400.
  • I'm simply in awe of your courage and dedication! I'll add my good wishes to the MFP multitude - we all know you'll get to where you want to be. Clearly there's no holding you back now! Also, your wife is a lucky lady. You are very handsome and obviously have a strong spirit! I'm sure she and everyone else in your life is…
  • This post makes me incredibly sad. I realize I probably don't understand, because I've never been a "binger," at least not to the extent you are talking about. But I do know that in general if you have a really strong impulse, thinking about reasons NOT to do something isn't going to work. If that was the case, all the…
  • Thanks for all the responses! I was worried that my message would come across as mean or irrelevant, but clearly I'm not the only one who notices and cares about spelling and grammar. As one previous poster noted, keep those red pencils waving!
  • Hey! We are EXACTLY the same! Well, at least in mfp terms . I am 5'4'', started at 137, and am now at 127....trying to lose maybe just 5 more. Like you, for me 1200 at the beginning felt WAY too low. I was hungry!! But I've found that if I work out and eat back all the calories I burn, I feel just fine. Not hungry at…
  • You have made huge progress! Look at the picture with your arms up... in the before pic there's a big curve where your pecs and abs are...now it's practically a straight line! Good luck with the next 30 days. I'm sure your results will get even better as you go. :)
  • Holy &^%*$#!!! I can't even imagine what kind of dedication it took to do this, but color me impressed! Congratulations! You look so happy, too. :)
  • you look gorgeous! keep up the good work!
  • I think you looked super cute before the weight loss too, but now...HOLY moley LOOK at those LEGS! Beautiful! If I run more, can I have a pair of those for myself??
  • Thanks for this. I've always tried to push my limits on the treadmill and in classes but continue to be terrified of the half of the gym with all the weights (after all, I'm just a weak girl who probably looks like an asshat on those machines, right?). It's time to get over that.
  • You look fab just as you are! Very slim. From one 5' 4'' lady to another, I wouldn't try to lose any more. In the low 120s you are already close to the bottom of a healthy weight range for your height: http://www.rush.edu/rumc/page-1108048103230.html. That might be why you're finding it harder to lose--your body could…
  • You look amazing! Congratulations. I love your style, too. You could be a supermodel spokeswoman for a much-needed organization: Lovely Fair-Skinned Ladies Who Say NAY to Tanning Beds and Bronzer (LFSLWSNTBB). Get on it!
  • So handsome! I'm honestly surprised that you have 15 to go...you look so thin and fit as is!
  • That's not just a two-piece--that's a bikini! And you look seriously HOT in it. Pat yourself on the back and enjoy your vacation...I'm sure you will!!
  • Woohoo! Just the sort of thing I was looking for. Goals for May added below. Thank you to those who set this all up! And if anybody is looking for another friend, feel free to add me. :) Also.. I turn 26 this week! Here's to those of us on the flip-side of our twenties...may the second half be even healthier and happier…
  • Hi! I just ran across this thread and figure I'm a few days too late to tag on to the goal list...but I'm planning an August 2012 wedding and just wanted to say hello! If it's ok, I'll add you two as friends. I've been on MFP for a while now but haven't really used the social features... think it would be a nice boost to…
  • For turbo jam I searched for kickboxing, and one of the options says "kickboxing (including turbo jam)". Though after this post, I wonder if the calories burned are accurate for it!
  • You look fabulous, and love your confidence! Will look forward to the June 4 post. Also...I now have major dress envy. That green number is amazing.
  • Awesome pictures! You both you fabulous. I see many fun days of crawling around with grandbabies in your future. :flowerforyou:
  • I know I'm pretty much repeating everyone else at this point, but you---absolutely truthfully--have a gorgeous figure. It feels weird describing another woman piece by piece, but seriously: thin legs and arms, flat tummy, defined hips and waist without a hint of muffin top...DAMN, girl. This is what I want to look like on…
  • Wow wow wow! I love how happy you look in the purple vest picture. It's a whole new you! Amazing!
  • Thanks for all the advice. It sounds like rest, better shoes, and maybe doctor are the main points of consensus--now I feel dumb for buying "nice" (meaning more expensive than I'm used to) running shoes at DSW somewhat recently. Maybe "nice" doesn't mean best for the way I actually run. It makes sense though...I've noticed…
  • Thanks for the advice and encouragement all. I'm going out tomorrow to buy a BIG bag of grapes. (We'll see how long they last...) Good luck to all the students during finals!
  • You look gorgeous! Look at that tiny waist! Be proud of yourself for sure.
  • Way to go! I'm yet another one of us new runners and will definitely check out that website. Last week I hopped on the treadmill and did my first ever 10k (not that long after first 5k....crazy!) but my left foot hurt for DAYS after. Maybe some actual coaching would help me know how to push myself without hurting myself....
