Please do add a field for "Added Sugars" (which is now legally REQUIRED on US nutrition labels) so that the info can be recorded when creating a new food in MFP. The American Heart Association recommends limiting ADDED sugar to 9 teaspoons (36 grams) per day for most men and 6 teaspoons (25 grams) per day for most women…

What a transformation! Please share your plan!

Down 0.3 (that I gained last week!). Gotta get in gear...
-
Up 0.3 for the week.

I weigh/track even low cal veggies, but they're definitely great for filling you up when you're still hungry. The USDA site is great for looking up nutrition data by weight: http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/search/list [go to Vegetables section]

Hey Lorilone- If you haven't yet, I recommend checking out "road map" threads like this one: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/937712-in-place-of-a-road-map-ver-3-0?hl=road+map Also, I recently bought a food scale (Oxo, love it) and weigh everything (except liquids) that doesn't come in a pre-measured serving size. I…

I'm down 2.2 this week; 11.1 since 1/1/13. I'm in impatient gal learning to be patient! :ohwell:

Up 0.6#

Up 0.3 for the week.

I use Coppertone Sport 50 SPF lotion for long bike rides. Pretty good luck w/ it not running into my eyes. I've tried a lot of others (including Coppertone spray) but have finally settled on this one. My husband had melanoma (and boy, do I regret the damage I did to my skin as a sun-worshipping teenager), so we're pretty…

I love Trader Joe's! Here are some of my faves: Green chile & cheese tamales (frozen) ***YUM! My #1 favorite*** Reduced fat cilantro salad dressing (in refrigerated section) tastes a little bleu-cheesy to me, & only 45 cals/2T. Asian style spicy peanut vinaigrette Teriyaki turkey jerky Fire roasted yellow & red peppers (in…

Down 0.6 - 9.8 total since 1/1/13.

If you literally weigh your food to every gram and ounce you'll actually get the exact nutritional value out of each meal. TrainSweatEat, do you have a food scale you'd recommend? I have a really old one (not digital)...a little dubious about its accuracy. Thanks.

Week 10 (03/12/13) Down 1.0 - 9.2 total so far.

It sits on my kitchen counter as a little reminder... Popeye73 posted this pic of 1 pound of fat on another thread: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a4/Benji_mon/1lbfat_zps6d505c78.jpg

That looks like a 3 or 5-pound fat replica. I have a 1-pound fat replica that is much smaller (about as long as a pen at its longest point). A pound of fat definitely takes up more space/volume than a pound of muscle, but the difference it not as dramatic as your photo.

Week 9: Down 2.0 pounds  Down 8.2 pounds since 1/1/13 ... Switched to TDEE -15% this past week after gaining a bit the last couple weeks. That only increased my calories from 1400 to 1500, but seemed to work(?!). Still in "sedentary" category.
-
Up 0.8 this week. A disturbing trend, I'm afraid!
-
Week 7 02/19/13 Up 0.4 not unexpected...gotta get my act together! Down 7.0 so far for 2013.
-
Wow, what a striking difference! Strong work.
-
The success of this approach needs to be measured 1 year later (and beyond).

Week 6 02/012/13 Down 0.4 Total since 01/01/13 -7.4

This may not have mass appeal, but here's how I fix cold tofu for lunch or a snack...it's kind of like egg salad minus the eggs. - Put tofu in a mixing bowl and mash it with a potato masher - Add some/all of the following, according to your preferences: Mayo or salad dressing Mustard Onion, chopped Celery, chopped Roasted…

Absolutely loved this post! Such a striking example of the scale not being the be-all, end-all measure of success. The difference between your pics in jeans (leaner and fitter at 134# than at 120#) is remarkable. And what a RELIEF to see it can be achieved with such a balanced approach toward calorie consumption and weekly…

Great work! Your persistence is clearing paying off.

You have the advantage of being only 23, so I think your skin will be much more forgiving and "elastic" as you shrink! Those of us who are considerably older may not be so lucky...:frown: Having bras that fit well makes a big difference regardless of your size--I recommend getting fitted at a store that offers the service.

I like... - Chobani flavored Greek yogurt - Apples or bananas with PB2 (powdered peanut butter you mix with H2O; only 45 calories per 2 T., made by Bell Plantation) - Laughing Cow light cheese wedges on Ryvita Rye & Oat Bran cracker or GG Scandinavian Bran Crispbread - Sargento light cheddar or string cheese sticks - Raw…

Week 5 02/05/13 Down 1.4 - 7.0 total so far.
