I log it as "circuit training" after reading that on another forum, and the numbers are pretty close to the formula mentioned above.

You look fantastic! I can definitely see a difference: your waist is more defined, and it seems like you've just gotten smaller overall, like in your arms. It seems like we have similar numbers! I started here at 260 last spring, and am now around 220. I also lose weight very proportionally, so there's no huge difference…

My goal for the summer was to fit into a certain size, and I did it! My reward was new clothes. And wow, going on that shopping trip gave me such an amazing feeling, because I was able to fit into not-plus-size clothes for the first time in my adult life. Now, whenever I wear these things I bought, I feel great about…

I end up going out for Chinese quite often because my boyfriend and I both love it, and there are several really good places near where we live. One of my favorite dishes is stir-fried green beans (or whatever other veggies you like) with meat, like shrimp or chicken. I usually skip the rice, or just have a little bit of…

Yes! This is how I have achieved relative peace with this, too. When my boyfriend wants candy, he knows to get the kind I don't like - this way, he can have his treats and I won't be tempted. Also - I would measure out like, four or five pieces of Doritos, and eat them really slowly, in tiny bites. Satisfies the craving…

I have a glass of wine almost every night, because I love it and it helps me relax and unwind. But seriously, just one glass. For me, that glass is part of the motivation to eat under my calorie limit, because I won't let myself have it if I've already eaten too much that day. The way I see it, this whole journey isn't a…

I have the same problem. Thankfully, there's a good thrift store near me where I've been finding lots of great new-to-me stuff for cheap. Also, I've invested in a couple good cincher belts to make shirts seem less baggy, and I've been taking in pants and other stuff myself using my very limited sewing skills. Here are a…

Ha! I teach high school. So many students (usually girls) ask me if I'm pregnant, especially if I'm wearing something with an empire waist. I like to tell them, "No, I'm just fat," and smile. :)

I love Luna bars! My favorite flavor is smores.

Your situation sounds similar to mine - I have a hard time getting motivated to go to the gym and feel really cramped working out in my living room to DVDs, but I live right by a lake that's 3 miles around, so I walk several times a week. It's definitely been working for me! I also do some stretching and basic calisthenics…

Yes! I've lost the same amount of weight as you, and I've also indulged in plenty of "bad" foods, but I've come out ahead because I planned those treats and compensated for them. A week and a half ago, I spent a weekend at the beach where I ate boardwalk fries and a ton of ice cream, then came home and ate super healthy…

I keep hearing people say that healthy food is more expensive, but I've actually had the opposite experience - I spend less on groceries now than I used to! The key is to cook from fresh, unprocessed ingredients. Lots of produce (I get most of mine from farmers markets and whatever's on sale), lean meat in economy-sized…

For a long time, I was where you are - unhappy with my weight but lacking motivation to do anything about it. What finally motivated me to make real changes was my doctor telling me she wanted to put me on meds for high cholesterol. The biggest gift you can give yourself right now is to NOT wait until the point of doctors…

I've lost an automobile tire, and hoping to lose an elephant's penis! :)

I am so glad to have found this thread! I've always wondered why people tell you not to eat past dinnertime, but I've also always been a midnight snacker, and haven't been able to get the late-night cravings under control. I still snack late, I just snack healthier now (before-bed oranges). Thank you all for this…

I was at around the same weight as you at the start of my weight loss journey, and I can't run. I messed up my ankles playing sports a few years ago, and now I have excruciating ankle pain whenever I try to run. I might try it again after I lose more weight, but in the meantime, I do a lot of other workouts that don't…

This. Yes. Seconded.

I work and go to school, so working out every day is not a realistic option for me - at the end of a long day, I'll always choose to relax on the couch with my boyfriend over exercise! But I generally manage to work out 2-3 times a week, and I've definitely been seeing results. It may take me longer to reach my goals, but…

I have it too. No kids and not trying to get pregnant (yet), but have lots of other symptoms. Feel free to add me, and I'd love to be part of a group where we all talk about the specific issues we face.

I'm 5'11" and have a pretty large frame, wide shoulders and hips. Love seeing all these responses from other tall ladies who have similar goals to me! Starting weight: 260 (the heaviest I've ever been is about 268) Current weight: 244 Goal: 200

Midnight snacking! Even when I was a kid, I would sneak to the kitchen and snag pieces of cheese or cookies late at night. I am naturally a night owl, and I have a hard time letting go of the late-night cravings. At least I've swapped out the unhealthy snacks for fruit.

I like to make big batches of bean burgers (I use this recipe as a base: http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/vegetarian-lentil-burgers-recipe.html) and freeze them, they make great quick lunches. Also, sometimes I'll make a big batch of grain-veggie-bean salad (like quinoa or wild rice, chickpeas or lentils, whatever…

I eat this fake "ice cream" pretty often! Except I don't use PB. Instead, I use a big spoonful of unsweetened cocoa powder, and then pretend the result is a bowl of chocolate ice cream. Yum! :)

Please don't confuse PCOS and gluten issues - they are two very different things! I have PCOS, and about a year ago went on a very low-carb diet (South Beach). It made my body react in pretty horrible ways - I got dizzy anytime I tried to exercise, and had SERIOUS problems with my period (I'm on the pill, and started…

Yes, I'd love to be in this group too! I'm 5'11" and built like and Eastern European peasant woman - my body is designed to carry heavy things through the snow. :) At my heaviest, I was 270. Right now, I'm at 251, and my goal is 200.

I agree with everyone talking about the sugar/carb levels. I tried South Beach a while ago, and it overall didn't work for me, but it did teach me to tell the difference between carb/sugar-crashing and genuine hunger, and made me realize that a lot of times I think I'm hungry but I'm actually just crashing off the sugar.…
