the only unhealthy food is one eaten to excess.0
-
Definitely way better than icecream.
However fruit has lots of sugar, so don't eat too much.0 -
It sounds really good. And yup its way more healthy then a lot of other snacks.0

Banana = good
PB = good
Does it fit into you calorie and macro target? If yes = good.0 -
thanks everybody and yea it fits into my calories i actually have a lot of calories to spare and its only 1 Banana and like 1 TSP of PB so its not that much of each0
-
yes it is healthy0

So was my 4 ounce cheese burger with bacon and jalapenos that I grilled on Sunday... because it fit in my macros. I'm a firm believer that moderation is key, and you are still allowed to have regular ice cream, however, yes, in general, your snack is very much healthier than ice cream, as it doesn't have the added sugar that regular ice cream does. But PB has sugar, so does chocolate syrup, so just watch your intake of those things...0

1 small (~6" long) banana: 90 calories, 0.3-0.5g fat, 23g carbohydrate, 2.5g fiber, 12.5g sugar, 1g protein
1 T. Smucker's Natural Creamy peanut butter: 105 calories, 8g fat, 3g carbs, 1g fiber, 0.5g sugar, 4g protein
Total for banana snack: 195 calories, 8.3-8.5g fat, 26g carbs, 3.5g fiber, 13g sugar, 5g protein
1/2 c. Ben & Jerry's Original Chocolate ice cream: 250 calories, 14g fat, 25g carbs, 2g fiber, 21g sugar, 4g protein
1/2 c. Breyer's Carbsmart Chocolate ice cream: 90 calories, 6g fat, 13g carbs, 4g fiber, 2g protein
Hmm...so, calorie-wise...Ice cream! (If you're going with Breyer's Carbsmart and I would). Otherwise, you are looking at a 55-calorie difference between real, chocolate ice cream and this "healthier" alternative. The sugar difference is only 8g and the total carb difference is only 1g, same with the protein. I would eat the real stuff...you probably burn 55 calories warming up afterwards, lol!0 -

^^This. I couldn't agree more!0 -
I would choose a lower-fat or all-natural peanut butter, myself.. totally your choice though.
It's always good to combine a carb with a protein so a good, balanced snack!0 -
You dont need the pb though - I make the same with just frozen banana, splash of almond milk and vanilla extract and blend... yummy! Sometimes I top it off with grilled pinapple!0

Um, I think that was the point of why the OP asked the question here under the food and nutrition topic!0 -
I eat this fake "ice cream" pretty often! Except I don't use PB. Instead, I use a big spoonful of unsweetened cocoa powder, and then pretend the result is a bowl of chocolate ice cream. Yum!0

I've heard of this and it sounds like a great alternative! I think I'll have to try it myself. I'm a clean eater so a banana and some natural PB fits into my lifestyle much better than ice cream does!0

You could also offer this person advice (links, articles, whatever) instead of just saying they will go NOWHERE. That isn't very helpful.
I suggest putting it into MFP. If it fits into your calories. Why not? I think it sounds pretty healthy.0
