I worked out twice a day last summer, and did too much, didn't eat enough, and lost my period for 6 months. I don't recommend it, unless you are talking a 20 min cardio in the am, and then maybe some weights later. But an hour in the am and then another hour in the evening= no.

Did you eat a good dinner last night and wake up not feeling ravenous? Or did you wake up hungry and then workout? I don't go to bed very full, but then eat a Quest bar every morning first thing before I work out. It's 170 calories, yummy, and gives me the energy to work out before my real breakfast/rest of the day. I love…

I would suggest renting DVDs from the library (Biggest Loser ones are awesome)-it's free! and work out at home on your own time. I do belong to a gym, and go mostly on weekends, but during the week I spend an hour upstairs per day doing a DVD and I never had to leave the house. I think that would save you time without…

For me- too much almond butter, too much ice cream. Both are fine to eat, just not in the amounts or frequencies I was eating them!

I have run on empty before, but I do better if I have something in my tank. I eat a Quest bar -about 170 cals before I go running. I usually run between 5-6 miles first thing in the am.
-
I've done one "official 10K" , but run 6.2 miles when I run during the week. Longest is 6.7 miles.
-
Peanut Butter and Almond Butter. I have been good this week though!

Any of the Biggest Loser DVDs as well as Bob Harper's DVDs are awesome! I just got Jillian's new release- Yoga Inferno, and going to do it Sat!!

this. I tried a chocolate pb one yesterday and it was pretty yucky. never getting that flavor again!
-
I personally think they are tasty, but only after rinsed, heated, and with something on them. The other gross thing is that you don't digest them, if you know what I mean!!
-
Quest bars. Very low sugar/high protein- yummy and filling!
-
@dwh77tx, I'm pretty much on the opposite of that schedule. I work out after work. But I'll definitely have to look in to those Quest bars. [/quote] they are SO yummy! I try to choose the ones around 160-170 calories. They vary between 160-210 cals. I get mine from GNC- they are not sold everywhere. They are pricey though…

Read a boring book! I used to be dependent on Lunesta for a few years, then weaned myself off it. I read until I feel sleepy in bed.
-
I eat a Quest bar and some water first thing in the AM before I work out. Then 2 hours later I have my breakfast.
-
Exactly how I feel, except I do my workout at 6am.
-
I just don't. I go to bed and think of my yummy Quest bar waiting for me to eat before I workout first thing!
-
Yes, I ordered it on Amazon. Jillian and all the exercisers are wearing Sunglasses in the workout- HA!!
-
That's so funny because I really think most of running is mental. Me personally, I've never been a runner. I have always been an exerciser though and consider myself in good shape. I ran my first 10K a few weeks ago and did great. Today, I also ran a 10K. I set out this am to only do 5 miles, then I said to myself, how…

give it a week, drink lots of water, and just wait. The same thing happened to me and I ran 4 miles every day of my vacation in June. I just ate a little too much and more sweets than usual. It will come off!

I stopped tracking my food, but weigh pretty often and go by my clothes. Tracking (for me) was becoming ridiculous, as all I'm trying to do is maintain my weight within 3-5 lbs. I feel a lot better now.

LOVE this! This is my reason to keep going with my strength training even though my scale isn't moving much!!
-
When I was working full time and had 2 little kids, I would get up at 430am and work out early before work- it was the only way to get it done. I recommend checking out a bunch of Biggest Loser DVDs from the library- they are awesome and free. Whatever you do, be consistent- that helps. Also have a small yummy preworkout…
-
when you say "working out vigorously" do you mean lots of cardio? I have not lost any weight all summer, but my clothes are fitting MUCH better now that I've been doing strength training, with lots of push ups, planks, squats. Try that!!
-
I don't go to the gym but I do get up early and work out at home or run. The one thing that helps me is I have a yummy pre workout snack waiting for me before I exercise. a spoonful of almond butter, PB2, 1/2 a protein bar. Something like that.
-
yep!! Me too. I'm more in maintenance mode. I use my clothes and the scale and how full I feel at the end of the day to gauge my progress.
-
That would be nice, but I've had children. My bladder WILL NOT let me sleep through the night, regardless of how much I've drank. You lucky men!
-
Baked seasoned salmon, steamed brussel sprouts, and parsleyed new potatoes. I won't eat the potatoes, though my family will. Homemade brownies for dessert (again none for me- I don't like chocolate anyway!)
-
Big huge salads with tons of chopped up veggies. I am hungriest at lunch, and I can eat a big bowl of salad that fills me up.

Personally, I couldn't weigh weekly. I weigh daily just to see the fluctuations. Maybe you were down a lb a couple days ago and then just ate something yesterday that made you retain water. Just a thought!
