  • Maybe I'll start making bone broth again, but on the stove top because I was doing the crock pot version and everybody complained about the smell and I didn't want to leave it cooking all night either. Thank you for directions.
  • This is true ^^^ I walk an hour a day = 300 burn
  • Ok, that's doable, I do like it. I haven't made bone broth in a while, I promised myself I wouldn't get too complicated because last time I got overwhelmed and gave up right when I so close to fat adapting...and buillion cubes...doesn't get any easier than that. Thanks guys!!
  • I hear you, I got derailed over the summer drinking my husband's home brew and generally making poor food choices. All that work, 30 lbs lost, down the drain because I gained 20 of it back even though I joined the gym, but as they say you can't out-exercise poor food choices. Add me, I'm making a commitment to not only…
  • type in "chicken wing bone in"
  • Has he always been verbally abusive or is this something he has just started after the baby? Maybe go see a counselor if you think your relationship is worth saving. I say this because my husband had an adjustment phase when we started a family, pressure, and he got in the habit of bringing his work stress home to me. We…
  • I've watched and listened to my husband's journey for 8 months and like eeede said, I wasn't ready. Sure I was proud of him, maybe a little jealous, but some days it seemed that was all he wanted to talk about and it got old. Now, I've logged on mfp for 3 days (it's a start) and gone to the gym the last two days. So give…
  • I'm getting back on track after a long hot summer, it's finally cooling off here in the Lower States so I hear you. Some things that help me stay on tract regarding CICO are as follows: no soda, if you are hungry but not really, drink broth or tea, take a warm bath, read the success stories on MFP, aim for a minimum of…
  • @ your height 1200 might be adequate but if you are starving then up it to 1300 and see if you can lose at that number. Good luck on your journey, and sorry about your mom. I'm 44. Way too young to pass away.
  • Thank you both for your replies, it means a lot to me since I really don't have anyone or anything to complain about. You guys really are a great group! Thanks for listening.
  • Save your money for a magic bullet (50$). I use mine every day and it's become an indispensable kitchen appliance. It makes mayo, BPC, fat bombs, smoothies, dressings and once again BPC that I would have easily paid 7$ for back in my Starbucks days. I got mine on sale and it makes my lchf woe so much easier.
  • Hello and welcome. I say kudos to you for attempting to resolve family issues at such a young age, it shows real strength in you. I hope as you enter into this way of eating you will find many questions you may have answered on this board. Feel free to friend me, also congratulations on your upcoming wedding.
  • Yeah, I'm 43 and my concern was turkey-neck. Turkey-Neck ladies!! Trust me, lose the weight now while your skin is young and has time to heal. Otherwise, just get over it, keep succeeding and your body will catch up eventually. Don't get discouraged!!
  • Zip here too and highly recommend. I've had mine since Feb and love it. It works great with mfp you don't have to do anything but synch it. I hook mine on my bra, won't lose it there.
  • As a mom of three under the age of 8, I hear you loud and clear. I'm not worrying about this weekend but I did initially lay off the wine but then again my sanity is more important and hey, if your carbs read low then I'd call that a successful weekend. I try to get out and walk with the youngest but that can turn on a…
  • Read this... Lost Your Motivation? My Standard Answer. Actually, you don’t need inspiration or motivation. You think you’ve “lost your motivation”. I assure you, you have not. Do you still want to be smaller, tighter, more defined and even muscular? Do you still want to avoid the complications of obesity? Heart disease?…
  • Snack time.
  • Didn't read other's post but I will say if you have shin splints then take a few days off to heal. I've read several times here on mfp that it's 80% eating 20% exercise so cut yourself some slack and make sure you are eating enough. 3 days rest and you should be good to go.
  • Everyone is different when it comes to macros and there is no simple formula you just have to figure out what works best for you. You can start by multiplying your weight times .07 to .09 for protein and adjust your carbs and fat around that number until you find your "sweet spot" which means you feel satiated and still…
  • I just change the measurements daily, ie sometimes 1 egg, sometimes 2. Its just part of the program and I actually enjoy it. If you are crunched for time just enter it into your diary the night before then you can just follow your measurements the next morning.
  • * coconut oil (refined)
  • Yum. I tried it this morning with 1 tbsp coconut, 1 tbsp kerrygold butter and 1 raw egg. Tastes wonderful and yes I stayed full and focused all morning. Thank you. If I hadn't read this thread I would have never known what I was missing. Highly recommend.
  • It took me 8 days to lose the bloat. Doesn't it feel great! I can see it in your profile picture. Off to a great start. High five from me too.
  • Pepper crusted salmon and broccoli. Also wine.
  • Agree about eating healthy fats and also don't shampoo every day - it dries your hair and scalp out, which can cause damage to new growth as well as further damage (split ends). You can still rinse your hair every bath/shower but 3x a week tops shampooing. I know it sounds weird maybe but believe me I have suffered from…
  • I was planning on having red wine tonight dilluted with zero carb soda but my appetite got the better of me so unless I walk for 60 minutes it's off the table because I'm watching my calories this week. I will say from my own past experience that drinking usually knocks the scale up for a few days so I have to decide if I…
  • Just go to apps above and install the fitbit app from the choices and everything should sync. I have a fitbit zip and love the way it works with my fitness pal. Aside note, you will need to figure out your calories, set them. Get a scale and measure your food. And it's really that simple. You can tweak your plan as you go.…
  • I have an unopened bag of coconut flour in the pantry. You are not alone. At least you tried, I haven't even done that.
  • I had every intention of trying this out this morning but chickened out. I only have a few tbsp of coconut oil left and didn't want to waste it if the raw egg puts me off. Can more people weigh in on their first experience? I won't be able to get coconut oil til the 24th and was planning on using butter in my coffee until…
  • As someone who initially followed 1200 recommendation, up your calories by a 100 a week and find a comfortable range where you feel full but are still losing. Hope you find your happy zone.
