Yeah, this is why I gained weight. Two or more beers a night and then some more on the weekend can really ruin your awesome bod. Sad but true. You will have to stop if you want to lose weight. Once you get closer to your goal you can reward yourself occassionally but that's about it.

Not from Ireland, but fan of Ireland. Hit the person's name you want to add as friend and there will be that option in their home page. Welcome, I've been on this site for about 2 months and lost 12 lbs. so it's doable.

Are you kidding me? Beer and soda are major contributions to my own personal weight gain. Track it! You'll be surprised.

Add me, I turned 41 a few months back, I Promised myself I'd get healthy etc before I turned 40, so, just a little late there, but all in all the Forties are Fabulous!

Well, since you ask...:) to be honest, I have not figured this out. My sister is the opposite of me and forgets to eat when she stresses, it's a weird thing, all I know is that logging my food every day, even bad days, has helped since I have more knowledge as to what I AM eating. Before it was easy to cut my self some…

Hi, I live in the south too (Texas) and get what you are saying, freakin hot and I got enough sunburns in my teen years to make me never want to go out during the hot time of day. I usually try to go for walks in the morning or after 7pm when it has cooled off some, also as someone said, there's some good free workout…

Bumping this cause just undid all week's work in one day :( went over 636 yesterday and drank too much wine Friday. Still under weekly goal by 13 calories, so..

The trick is all about marinating. Put your chicken breast in a baggy with some fresh squeezed lemon and garlic or whatnot for four hours. There several different ways to marinate, but this is one of my favorites, also you can leave it overnight if you lose interest in cooking it later in the day. I use the Foreman grill,…

Idk about others but for me, not very accurate; off by 3 lbs, so I really shouldn't complain. Just saying, it's an average but everybody's body is different and I have gone over calories sometimes. Good luck and welcome to MFP, it does help logging your food.

I was reading about this earlier because I fully plan on drinking wine tonight, but apparently champagne might be your best bet depending on how inebriated you want to get. Have fun!

Oi, sorry, sorry, just read about being raped. My aunt was raped in Denver, CO and still lives there. Idk, scary people can be anywhere, could you get a restraining order if you moved back? I understand feeling safe, but it is an illusion. Best of luck, sorry.

You could move to Lockhart, south of Austin, small town, 25 minutes from DT Austin.

Maybe if you go with your girlfriends he won't feel so threatened? He's going to make you miserable if you let him, probably best to get him to join too. We have a super nice club where they meet with you and walk you around, if there's a sauna and pool even better, he can sit around while you work out. You can also bring…

Awesome, I love these kinds of posts! You look AMAZING and are truly an inspiration!

I don't even drink soda but now I want one, preferably with some bourbon. :drinker:

My hubby wasn't so suppoertive either so I just kept it to myself, started walking in the evening and doing exercise videos when he wasn't around. He's sure noticed it now, now that I threw out all my frumpy old clothes and bought two sizes smaller (yes, they fit), my point is, screw him, he'll come around once you start…

I haven't read through the thread but when I let myself go a day or two or three, I just stay on this website and read the community posts. Idk why but it always works. Stay positive, you have not undone all your hard work.

bump - some good answers

The only thing that helps me is pre-packing healthy snacks. That way when I feel the need to slpurge I have this wee little bag of fruit that reminds just how little I am allowed to eat.

Stopped drinking beer, sigh

I don't do zumba anymore but it used to be the over-crowding and the show-offs.

I'm 5'4'' and I eat 1200 or a bit more depending on how much I burn or how hungry I am. The person who told you you are not eating enough calories was probably talking about BMR and TDEE which you can look up and calculate but it can be confusing. People who have been on here for a while can better inform you or you can do…

I am sorry you had a death in the family, stress can play a part in weight gain.

physically: my chubby cheeks got smaller, my face slimmer emotionally: my self confidence returning, more pride in appearance

ty! wgp, this is what I was thinking. If I ate 1500 in say pretzels instead of salad then wouldn't there be a big difference in weight loss or lack thereof? I've seen some ppl complain about not losing weight and looked at their food diary and thought to myself, well, yeah, you're starving yourself so you can allow for…

Trust this post, I'm fortyone with babies, you will regret not wearing support when you reach a certain age, like over 40. Also, wear sunscreen!!!

Log it, I went over 2k the other day. As painful as it was to log, it reminds me several days later to check myself.

I haven't read everyone's post so forgive me if I repeat... I think it depends on the person and how dedicated you are to making changes, plus it takes time. Personally, I didn't lose weight the first two weeks then cut back on eating my burned calories. Since I was already eating healthier than before I started the weight…

Great job all of you on your quits! I agree with other poster, if you have the will power to quit, then you can do the weight loss if you put your mind to it. Good luck!

lol, that's why I said I'm confused. I thought eating BMR WAS upping my calorie intake and then I have this other number 2090 which I might enjoy eating but would put my family in the poor house if I ate that much. I was thinking I'd up my intake gradually. I appreciate where you are comig from though, I guess this is…
