Two days ago, Michio Kaku was filming a scene for a documentary (maybe for Discovery Channel?) in front of the building I work in. None of my coworkers knew who he was, but I was beside myself trying to decide if I should ask him for an autograph before he disappeared into a wormhole. That's nerdy...

Probably, but I'm not interested.

For entering food data: MFP For outdoor running/biking: MapMyRun For walking/hiking: Fitbit website (I have a Fitbit Charge 2). At my gym, the computerized stationary bike is called Expresso (it has its own website). At my gym, the treadmills are LifeFitness (it has its own website). Each one of these things has its own…

Yes. For years now.

No goal cause I'm a slacker, but 34 miles done so far. Next month gonna set goal of 50.

-
Add me if you want. I'm up to about 50 miles a month. Doing 5k in June, 10k in July and half marathon in fall.
-
45 minutes on stationary bike. Expresso bike so interactive with a video screen so you have nice scenery, challenging course, and computerized opponents.

Rack to go on the back of my new bike so I can use panniers. Now, weather permitting, if I don't have to buy a ton of food, I can bike to Trader Joe's and back instead of taking the car.

Yes. Lost almost 60 pounds. Then used it for maintenance for a few months. I had to reduce the suggested net calories MFP gave me by about 150 in order to maintain, but other than that no issues. Then I stopped using MFP for about 2-3 months. Gained 10 pounds. Now I'm back to take those off over the next month and a half.…

I'd say, yes. Go for weight maintenance. But that doesn't mean you can't do other things. For example, you can still do further toning of various muscle groups or other things to shape up any places you want to "fix". Start training for a marathon or take up hiking or something interesting. Start focusing on eating…

Starbucks: Grande coffee with half and half Vegetable and Fontiago breakfast sandwich If you haven't tried the Starbucks Vegetable and Fontiago breakfast sandwich, I highly highly recommend.

Congrats! Important thing is to stick with it. Took me a good year and a half to lose my 60+ pounds, but it is well worth it when I could finally walk up the stairs without getting winded. I'm now training for a marathon, which seemed like a pipe dream a few years back.

3 Kirkland (Costco) multivitamins. 1 Starbucks grande coffee with half and half. Half of the ham and cheese sandwich I packed in my son's lunch for school. So nothing sexy. Important thing is calories in < calories out.

I just try to hit the suggested macros for protein. I work out a lot. I noticed that when I log a bike ride or a run, MFP increases my protein goal for the day. Not sure how accurate it is, but it gives me a goal. I find one of the cheapest sources of protein (dollars per gram) is peanut butter. Didn't used to eat much of…

I never categorized myself as obese, fat, overweight, etc as I lost weight. I just knew I weighed more than I should - by about 60 pounds. Set a goal for weighing 160 lbs, which was what I pulled up as being right below the midpoint of "healthy weight" according to BMI charts. Now that I hit that number, and am…

Consultant. Either working remotely from my basement, or travelling to clients. Working from basement = more flexibility and I can control my food and exercise more, but it is boring. Travelling = more difficult to control calories and work out, but is a lot more interesting.

I simply reheat leftovers from the previous night.

I had a few days when I was losing weight when I was at a serious calorie deficit. Even had one day when I biked 10 miles and ran 10 miles where my net calories were less than zero! I didn't die, so not a big deal. Just as long as I didn't make a habit of it.

I love those ideas for rewards. I'm done with my weight loss, and just maintaining, but I can tell you from experience that I should have saved up the $$ to buy new clothing. I'm now at a great weight, but wearing clothes that are 3-4 sizes too large.
-
If your goal at the beginning of the day is 1500, and then you burn 800 from exercise, once you log that exercise in, you will see that MFP says "2300 calories left" for the day. So it takes that into account. Your goal should be 1500 net calories, so you need to eat those 1500 plus whatever you burn off exercising. If you…

I lost a lot of weight using MFP, and then switched to maintenance. I found that the maintenance goal MFP gave me was too high, and I was slowly gaining weight back. I manually adjusted the goal down by a couple hundred calories, and now it's perfect for me. MFP makes an educated guess, but if that doesn't work, tweak it.
-
Simply stick with it. I lost 60+ pounds using MFP, and still use it to maintain current weight and track my exercise. Besides counting calories, make sure you get some exercise. But start out very easy. I suggest going out each day for a walk, weather permitting. Start with a 15-20 minute walk. and then as you lose weight…

I simply counted calories and go with the MFP suggestion. On days I saw I was going to go over, I tacked on a few extra miles of running. I can't do the fast/non-fast days. I am training for a marathon, and need to get my calories and protein and other macros in.

I'm a big fan of randomness of the universe, and even the state of the universe before the big bang. Seen lots of documentaries on it, though I'm not a physicist or scientist of any kind. I do like statistics, and think that an astronomically large number of improbable events happened in exactly the right order to bring me…

Probably not. But only because my wife would not allow it.

I'm too tired from my workout to run. Might engross myself in a game of Angry Birds though.
