  • The average is 100 calories per mile. IT's hard to calculate without a heart rate monitor if you have burned extra. I'd just go with what MFP says.

  • It doesn't affect your calorie burn as already stated. If you are sweating more make sure to drink more water as you could dehydrate more quickly (common sense I know, but had to say it).

  • I run 3 times a week (3-7 miles each time). I feel that more than that is too much for me. So I vary my workouts by weight training, doing cardio via spin class, kick boxing or machines and I have recently bought a road bicycle and started riding. Do what works best for you but listen to your body.
