  • It's probably set up for him and he probably has the alarm set on it to let him know that he is not at his target HR.
  • Way to go!!! Congratulations!
  • Very interesting (esp the parts about the low sodium soups and cholesterol not being linked to food we eat-I'd like to research those as well)...thanks for sharing. =)
  • LOL We said the same thing =)
  • 35% of my calories come from protein. 30% from fat and 35% from carbs. I believe in a healthy balanced diet that incorporates LEAN protein, healthy carbs and healthy fats. Do the research, talk to fitness and nutrition specialists and figure out what works best for you. I do not believe in Atkins, South Beach, etc because…
  • I'm looking for diversity, honesty, and reality. 1. How many people do you know that are raising a child(ren) alone? Are they male or female? 4 females 2. Were you raised by a traditional parenting system or non-traditional? (Mom and dad, 2 dads, 2 moms, adopted, aunts, uncles, foster homes, institution, etc.) Traditional…
  • It really helps to plan out your workouts for the week (like you would set dr appts) and plan your meals/snacks for the day each day. Even plan 1 or 2 days a week where you will allow a cheat snack or evening out to dinner.... Every day is a new day. Sounds like you have a great plan set up!
  • Hummus with sliced tomatoes and whole wheat pita bread or chips.
  • I have a garmin and a Timex (piece of you know what!). I love the garmin, but I need to upgrade to the newest version since I have become more picky about my time (it's blue tooth and has automatic pause when I stop at lights and such while running (and now biking!).
  • small grilled chicken kabobs with tomatoes, peppers, onions and cabbage
  • New running shoes (get your feet analyzed to find the perfect fit). Those are the most important thing on your list.
  • If your diet is high in sodium it can cause you to bloat, become dehydrated which then causes you to become more thirsty.
  • I like the Muscle Milk (130 calories, 26 g of protein, 2 g of sugar). BSN Syntha 6 is good too. So are the EAS products and I know shakeology from beachbody is also good (not as much protein).
  • Wow! 8 day biking trip!!! How fun! Although, I would have to stop and shower some where. LOL Thanks for all the tips! I can't wait to go on my first ride!! May 23rd is the big day!!! I'm doing the Mad Mud run on the 22nd! Then we'll do the ride the next day! Lots of calories will be burned that weekend!! =) I'm still…

  • I just use a HRM monitor to gauge my intensity. I subtract about 25% from my over all cals burned because it doesn't account for what my body would normally burn at rest during that time. The calories burned are figured by an algorithm based on your HR, age, height and weight that you program into the computer. It's not…

  • Costco sells the powder also.... I like the powder better because it's more versatile. I make mine with 1/2c of nf milk to thicken it up a bit and you can add fruit to make it a more filling meal. =)
  • I like Muscle Milk right now. It's 130 calories, 26 g of protein and 2 g of sugar/serving. The beach body products are good (shakeology) And BSN Syntha-6 is really good as well.
  • Give her earrings to wear to the ceremony with an engraved jewelry box. =) Will seem personal to her, but you don't have to put a lot of thought into it. You can get the father in law cuff links to wear to the ceremony =) Since it's about your wedding day, these gifts are fitting and practical.
  • I have a mtn bike and have not been a fan. I have been on a couple mtn bike trips with friends and have never enjoyed it. I think I'm afraid of falling and breaking bones. LOL My husband is into mtn biking! He's headed out on a 3 day bike trip this weekend (on his new mtn bike-early father's day present).

  • The only thing that helps me get up early to run on the weekends is that I have a running partner that I meet. So, I suggest getting a workout buddy and leaving the house to hit the gym or run... if you can. I am not motivated to work out at home period. I have to be at a gym or running outside.
  • Thanks for the tips! I got fitted yesterday. My husband took me to the bike store and we were there for about 4.5 hrs testing bikes and then getting all gear and getting fitted for the bike. It is a pricey sport I tell you! I do need to get a computer, but I have the runner's garmin which is multi sport and keeps track of…

  • I got a TREK. It's entry level. I plan on signing up for a couple races this summer and maybe give a sprint triathalon a try! I'm going to join a cycle group this summer too..... I've been a runner for years and wanted to start cycling!

  • I only like the Ezekiel bread toasted...... But I do like it.
  • I'd have an egg white omelet with a lot of veggies and 1/4 cup 1% cottage cheese mixed in. You could even throw it on a 1 slice of low cal bread and top with salsa.
  • Lean protein (chicken, turkey, egg whites, nuts, low fat dairy, etc), high fiber foods (fruit, veggies, oats, beans)
  • Godiva dark chocolate pearls... get them! I've had the container in my purse for 3 weeks and just finished it today. 2-3 a day take care of my craving. They are rich and itty bitty (like tic tacs).
  • Woo Hoo! Congratulations! You should be so proud!
  • This explains why you should eat right after a workout http://www.intense-workout.com/post_workout.html you don't need to go out and buy all the supplements. Sometimes I just eat a Greek Yogurt.. I hear chocolate milk is good too post workout.
