What an awesome job! Congraulations!! You are an inspiration!

I gave up all soda on January 28. In 1997. Just do it.

I find that it sucks the life out of me. I enjoy it during the moment, but I'm either exhausted afterward or completely unmotivated. Even just one glass of red wine gives me a wicked sinus headache the next day. I can't say I'll never have it again, but more and more it isn't worth it. I would much rather have food that…

Sun Salutations are a series of 12 Yoga poses designed to increase flexibility and overall wellness first thing in the morning.

Feel free to add me. I have experimented with both Vegan and Raw diets (still cook/uncook both weekly), but have decided to eat fish at least twice a week. I have eggs, yogurt and cheese occasionally. And I LOVE weight-training. Love probably doesn't come close...:)

I'm doing NROLFW from home. I have a cheapy weight bench that was probably 20 bucks 30 years ago. I found a squat rack on Craig's List for cheap. I'm finishing Stage 1 and I'm squatting 73#. You can totally do it. And it's so worthwhile. The program takes 20-30 minutes at the beginning and I just couldn't justify joining a…

I once ate four packages of pecan twirls in one sitting. Given the chance, I could probably do that again. So, I'm not giving myself the chance. Not right now at least.

The best vacation I've ever taken was a 3-day trip to New Orleans by myself. You get to see and experience so much more because you aren't focused on the person you're there with. I'm a writer so it was a heavenly trip for me. I love my SO, but given the opportunity, I'd gladly go by myself again.

I have three babies: Coal is a black Maine Coon that picked me to be his Mommy. He scaled the cage at the Humane Society and stuck his paw out and grabbed my shirt. We've been stuck on each other ever since. Butterbean came reluctantly at the same time. He's part Orange Tabby/part Siamese. He has eyes that are really too…

I have to argue with you. You didn't go back to the way you were. You went to a whole new better you! Rock on!

I do the same as the above poster mentioned every week for my protein shakes. Also, banana ice cream made just from frozen bananas. Can't beat it! What a deal!

My Maine Coon cat will literally fight me for peas. Yes, peas. Weirdest cat ever.

Nuvaring saved me. I had awful periods before. Horrible cramping and throwing up. Literally took 1-2 days of my month away from me. Now, nothing. No mood swings, no cravings. Just normal me all the time. Did it cause me to gain weight? No. Eating too much and not moving enough did that.

C25K was crazy hard for me when I first started. A minute seemed like agony. I managed to get to week 4 and then, couldn't go up. I realized I was trying to run too fast for the level of fitness I had at the time. I don't know what speed you're running, but slow it down and don't give up. It will get easier. I had never…

Programs provide small attainable goals, which helps a non-runner become a runner. Everyone is different. I needed that. You don't. We're different. It also provides a sense of community which we all need. I can talk to other people who completed C25K and we can compare journeys. We can bond over common ground. Someone…

This is seriously why you're my hero. Baby steps. Rome wasn't built in a day. And all those other applicable clichés. :drinker:

I seriously just laughed until I cried. Pretty sure I snorted peanut butter also. Bless you. You win the day.

The kind I use has 60 calories per heaping tablespoon, no fat, 8 mg of sodium, 12 grams of protein and 1 gram of fiber. It has no flavor so it mixes nicely with whatever you put it in.

Look for Vegan Protein Powder. I use Rice Protein. I mix it with Chocolate Silk and it works for me.

Yoga. Yoga completely saved my emotional life. I used to stress eat, emotional eat, boredom eat, the whole list. Now, I just do Yoga. It doesn't have to be intense; it can be a 20 minute stress-relieving DVD. Learn how to breathe. It will help SO much.

Take it 15 minutes at a time. _On dealing with heartache. Don't borrow trouble. _On worrying. Throw the scale away. _On weight loss. Breathe. _On life.

That gave me goosebumps! Congratulations!

It is! Switching from sweet to savory really changed my morning. I was eating cereal with fruit and I can't even think of going back to that!
-
I really got tired of breakfast. Like REALLY. So I started eating hummus and pita bread with some olives and sun-dried tomatoes, topped off with some figs. Now, breakfast is what I look forward to and savor the most. So, think outside the breakfast box.

:drinker: After I stopped eating meat, my total cholesterol dropped almost 30 points. My dad's cholesterol is horrific so I wanted to nip it in the bud early.
-
Total = 131, HDL = 73, LDL = 40, Triglycerides = 92.

WHO DAT!

I used to do 5 minute exercise breaks every hour: wall push-ups, dips, calf-raises, single-leg squats...all at my desk. 5 minutes is nothing and it increases your productivity the other 55 minutes. Plus, there are a whole host of ab exercises you can do without leaving your chair. Get creative!
-
Great advice! Thank you for posting that! I run the Dash in September!

This whole journey started for me exercising 5 minutes out of every hour at my desk: wall push-ups, dips, calf-raises. You'd be surprised.
